Got a 1T2 Touran which (other than the engine) is constantly giving me problems so I'm gon a bite the bullet and sort a replacement and since my lad got a 1.4 for his first car I quite fancy a GTi for myself so after a few pointers of problem areas to look out for.
Seen one relatively local, 04 just shy of 80k for £5000. Not done a proper history check on it yet but MOT history looks alright bar the last failure for:
Nearside Rear Outer Seat belt anchorage prescribed area strength or continuity significantly reduced sill corroded (7.1.1 (a) (i))
And an advisory for "slight underside corrosion".
Any particular bad spots for rust/corrosion? I've had to have a similar spot on my touran welded last year as crud gets stuck behind the mudflaps and builds up so I kind of expected that from something the same age.
