No hot air through vents
« on: September 23, 2025, 06:45:19 am »
Hello all, I have a MK5 GTI that isn’t producing hot air out of the vents.

The car gets up to temp (90) quickly and stays there perfectly for the remainder of the journey. And the heater pipes going through the bulkhead show 68 degrees on the inlet and outlet. The fans work on all speeds and if I sit in the car for a good 15 mins I will eventually get warm/hit air, but as soon as I drive, it goes back to lukewarm again?

Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks all!

Your temp readings may say other wise but i'd wager you have a partially blocked heater matrix

Possible. I guess when sat still it has no cold air rushing over it so can heat up better then when it’s being driven?
