Highline clock retrofit disaster
« on: September 29, 2025, 08:12:22 pm »
Hello,

i tried retrofitting highline clocks into my gti which originally has midline display.
the original was for a manual trans and displays km/h (1K6 920 860 EX). The new one is from an australian automatic car with the mph and kmh clock face (1K6920 974A). After replacement, immo and mileage adaptation the car starts and drives.
I have changed the clock face to the only kmh face and coded the cluster to kilometers. The problem now is that the speedo gauge still moves in mph (shows 50kmh but gps speed is 80kmh) and even tho the ABS coding has been done the cluster beeps and has ABS, ESP and flashing brake light. The fault present is 01044 Module incorectly coded - implausible signal, even after all basic settings.

Any help would be apreciated

Kind regards
