Brembo Brakes Kit

Well...was told to take it easy so if i'm honest i've just feathered them so far. Will try and give an update, if anyone's interested that is, when they are bedded in.
I have noticed however that the braking does seem more progressive compared to standard.
And can someone confirm something for me because i don't know if this is just in my head. These brakes are a lot lighter than the standard brakes. On the way home under heavy turning the steering seemed a little lighter....a bit more responsive. Would the weight saving at the two corners affect this? I think so as lighter wheels are supposed to improve this aspect of the car. Is that right? :rolleye:

x2 because there is significantly less unsprung mass you'll notice an improvement in handling. That's why I went for the Brembo setup as opposed to the more common R32 setup.
I've done a leetle bit of heavy braking over the last couple of days and am very satisifed with these anchors. The pedal does feel better (might be psychological I guess) and the car really does stop well. The difference between these and the OEM brakes? As big as going from the crappy brakes in the Karmann Ghia to the OEM GTI brakes. They're that good, and I'm incredibly happy with them. I get the occasional squeak, but it's not regular and definitely not too bad.

Mackit, did you have to use spacers to fit your Brembos with the Pescaras? I had a set of Brembos put on my car yesterday, and the caliper seemed way too wide. Im trying to work out if the caliper is wrong.

....Correctomundo, as the Commander Of Fire alonso confirms.
Each brake assembly is built into the wheel of course and so its weight influences behaviour and feedback to the driver. Change to lighter weight wheels and you'll notice an even bigger difference. I'm saving about 9kg per corner (18kg total) on mine compared with OEM.

Hi,
No spacers on mine. The Brembos fit fine with a little space to spare under the Pescara's. I did read some people advised that these wouldn't but no issues.
Chris.
