ebay question
Golfgirl:
I had someone bid on something of mine at Christmas time and he was from Holland and registered on the day he bidded. I clearly stated in the auction that international bidders had to contact me before bidding for a postage quote but he didn't, so I cancelled his bid only for him to bid again. This went on for a couple more bids and cancellations and in the end I sent him a message telling him he should have contacted me first. He said he didn't realise (despite it being in the listing) and asked what could he do to make me accept his bids. He gave me all of his details so I let the auction run but had a niggle in the back of my mind that he wasn't going to pay. He did pay, although it was a bit slow as he didn't set up a Paypal account until the auction had ended so it took a while for the funds to clear and get to me. I posted it out to him and had no word back whether he received it, no feedback, nothing! I e-mailed again asking if it had arrived and luckily it had and he turned out to be genuine in the end. Obviously needs a few lessons on Ebay etiquette though!

People that don't leave feedback get right on my nerves :fighting:
It's easy to do and it gives you peace of mind knowing that the item got to its destination ok!

I find that 1 in 10 leave feedback which is a shame when eBay marks you on trading performance

Give the guy a chance everyone starts on 0 feedback im sure once upon a time you were too. Yeah the guy should of sent you a message first but perhaps he didnt realise what you meant by feedback i certaintly didnt when i first joined ebay. Give him a day or two to contact you then go from there you could be doing yourself out of a sale. As long as you take the necassary precautions you should be fine.
I know there are so many people out to scam you these days especially on ebay but i think its a shame that everybody treats everyone as if theyre out to scam them. What is the world coming too
And feedback thats a load of tosh anyway. I could quite easily set up a ebay account and buy 250 penny sweets hey presto ive got a positive feedback of 250. All ive got to do then is sit down and bid on a load of expensive stuff whilst eating my sweets and people will trust me as ive got a high feedback record.

I sold an expensive car stereo a few months back, the winning bidder was a recently registered user from croatia or some other eastern european country.
"Oh no, relisting beckons" i thought to myself.
To my suprise, he paid up in full (only slightly late), and i learnt a lesson not to be so judgemental! :drinking:
