My .:R32 fly in this Gti ointment
« on: January 30, 2009, 07:20:34 pm »
About time I did this  :happy2:

I know, I've got the wrong badge on the back....makes me heavier thus slower apparently  :angry015:

I dont have many shots of the car in pretty places etc as it's done nothing but rain since I've owned it!

here she was with 19 miles on the clock new rims were already on the car as I had delivered them to the dealership (VW Helston - who are brilliant for most things but watch the service mechanics like a hawk)

.......and the story so far:

set of 19x8.5's, didn't want to go any bigger as i wanted to keep the same rolling radius as the standard rim

The alloys are wrapped in Toyo T1R's which are easily comparable with Mich Pilot Sport 2's

Took delivery of a nice phat milly resonated catback, I had the non res on my MK4 R32 but the droning got tiring and this ones a decent compromise

And a bunny for its bum, the 2.5 gets binned

within 2 days of owning her she's now up in the air at RK Engineering for some toys...under the bonnet goes the EVOMs cold air induction setup and a FORGE quickshift set to 50% less throw (for now)

milly now on , bunny on bum and the OSIR rear valance fitted

Focal V1 polyglass speakers go into the rear

and Hertz components into the front

a nice slice of pioneer into the front with itouch

Lots of other bits getting done at the moment, will add more piccys as and when things get finished

 :happy2:

what can i say, i'm impatient

loads planned, i've already got some stealth JL Audio subs and amps ready to go in the boot

The interior nasty 'xmas wrapping paper' style trim and ashtray are getting the candy treatment

Nuespeed front and rear ARB's are on Feb's shopping list

And theres some CF mods I want to do, but getting the parts are virtually impossible so dunno about that

Changing the side skirts for identical ones but with an air scoop gently moulded in to keep the rear brakes chilly and detailing that black

this is the kind of look i'm after on the side:

my biggest issue is with the front grill, just doesnt look right but not sure what to do with it (suggestions welcomed), happy with the rear

then i will let the bank acount recover then its mods for horses starting with a remap  :happy2:

what dont you like about the front ?, is it the silver against white ?, thats my issue (only slight), white and silver just dont go to well, something darker would look better, maybe anthracite, or something a few shades darker than it is, or piano black even ???!

just noticed no fogs ?, is that normal

I would go black with the front grille too! Would look even better as your rims are black.

Lookin forward to seeing the dash inserts  :happy2:

the r32 didn't come with spots, they are available from Japan but they cost about £1000 by the time they get to your door (no i'm not kidding)

i've got bunch's of pics with different styled front as its the same issue i have that you pointed out...its not quite right, looks like a jetta  will dig some out and post a few up for crique
