Some wrapping
« on: August 26, 2010, 09:27:00 pm »
Finished the aircon unit and coin tray surround. Took me ages and a trip to B&Q for some allen keys to unscrew the unit.

Heres it at the moment. Next will be the symphony II. I just need to get some keys so i can pull it out to wrap it.

(Forgot to put the piece behind the ashtray back lol)

(dont know why these are the wrong way round as i rotated in my photobucket?)

My keys

Nice looks good was it hard? I tried to do mine in gloss black
But there where too many fine scratches in the vinyl n it was
Hard to get neat.
This might be a better option where did you get the vinyl from?
If you dont mind do you have a link?
Thanks

Do you use a heat source or soap to get it into place when you do it?  Or is this actual carbon with epoxy adhesive?

It's a vinyl sticker with carbon texture. You use heat, pressure sticks it and lacquer holds it

Good effort jules, Takes abit to get used to looking at!

For me theres just too much of it .

Thats not an easy job to do with such detail.

The weave all goes in the same direction.  :congrats:

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

The weave all goes in the same direction.  :congrats:

Its the little details that matter

It looks much more subtle in the car. It's gone from black to black with a pattern so you don't notice it too much.

Ill try and get some better pics in the light tomorrow of the whole interior  :happy2:
