That pic is really nice Robin full of atmosphere. Even the expression on the chaps face adds to the picture. Please keep posting all your pictures if this is what you can do with a proper camera.  :happy2:

....Thanks for the encouragement, TC  :happy2:

A friend of the smiley chap saw my photo on facebook and identified him as Fireman Bob George. Bob has now been in contact with me and likes the pic. Naturally I have said he can download it and consider it as a gift.

Have you been to the national railway museum?

....No I haven't - That's a good idea - Thanks!  :happy2:

I have been invited on a road trip around Scotland next Spring (mostly BMW drivers) and could probably visit the NRM in York on my way home south.

Have you been? Taken any photos there?

Great shot there Robin!

Did you catch any of the Aurora?  I didn't see any last night.

....Thanks for the encouragement - I'm new to DSLR.  :drinking:

I didn't look out for any Aurora but there's an excellent short series on BBC2 "Stargazing Live"(?) with Aurora filming from Norway.

Nice moon shot Robin.

I am more a fan of the less than full moon.  :happy2:

....Thanks, Ian - That's praise indeed coming from another photographer.

I agree, I'm not a lunar togger, just a loony togger, but a full moon tends to look more like a disc than the globe that it is. I got lucky in that my shot is at a very globular (globby?) stage.

However, I expect that those folks with specialist astro gear can present a full moon which also looks globular.

Very nice. When you say 3:08 PM this afternoon! does this mean it hasn't appeared yet and you are guessing what it will look like.  :signLOL:

.... :signLOL:  :congrats:

You already know I can be a bit loony but hopefully those naughty substances I consumed many decades ago aren't kicking in again.

I think I best edit my post.
