HPA DSG Uprated Clutch Packs
« on: February 05, 2009, 01:02:43 am »
I wrote to HPA today regarding the DSG clutch packs they are rumoured to have and got this response:

Hello Nadeem,

Thank you for your inquiry!

Yes, we do in fact offer an upgraded DSG clutch pack for higher HP/TQ applications. We are actually using them on our big twin turbo vehicles that are putting out around 500HP!!

To upgrade your vehicle we require you to send us your clutch pack in for modification as the cages tend to differ from car to car which is why each one is treated on an individual basis.

The cost for this upgrade is $3600.00 USD + shipping both ways.

If you don’t mind me asking, what modifications have you currently performed to your vehicle?

I look forward to your response!

Kind regards,

Nik Brkich

Not sure about guarantee, but I would have thought there would be some kind of assurance... I think its worth it for people who are running over 300bhp and associated high torque as the price for a DSG repair would be higher  :rolleye:  Also, with a dsg remap, I think you would see some crazy fast DSG cars.  There was a noticeable difference in levels of torque of the manual VWR R300 and my own Ed30 even though my car is running at approx. 350 bhp and uprated clutch packs and a dsg remap would soon sort that out

And the DSG boys will be seeing your rapidly diminishing car in their rear-view mirror on the drag strip after they get one of these fitted

I'm sure HPA would oblige you - although it might be a bit cold by the time it gets here from Canada!
