It seems to be a noticably smoother Steve, especially when changing down gear in M. Ive only driven down the M1 back home so far, so will let you know how I get on with it.  :happy2:

Rang VW to see how much an oil change would be.... £129  :scared:

So i drove to VW to pick up an oil filter, sump plug and 5L of oil... grand total of £36. My local garage will change the oil for £40.  £50 saving cannot be sniffed at  :happy2:

Does the VW stamp in the service book hold that much of a premium?  :surprised:

I do it myself at 5k intervals and independent specialist at 10k as part of service.  Halfords & OPIE oils have regular deals

Not really... because this is a interim oil change, when I get it serviced properly ill take it to VW in Doncaster (or possibly Simon) and get a good deal and a stamp  :happy2:

The ham fisted knob head who changed my oil has snapped the engine cover... and then tried to let me leave without telling me.

Good job i looked under the bonnet to check it all.  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

I point blank demanded a new engine cover, so one has been ordered. I cannot believe it... utter RAGE at the mechanic who when i confronted him about it, just didn't seem to give 2 poo poos that he had snapped it "yeah, its really hard to get off"  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: RAGE!

Where did you go in the end Rich, Back Street Motors 'r' us?

Sounds like a bit of a nugget and probably not someone I would want working on my car. Hopefully now you will have one to chop when you fit the intake.

I foolishly tooh it to clowns r us thinking they couldn't possibly mess it up!

Problem is that it's broken from the oil filler hole upwards.... It's no use to man nor beast.

The oil still smells a bit fuelly, so I'm presuming that's just normal as it's just been changed!
