Yeah the linear throttle file has been available for a while as Mike says. I don't know why one earth they don't put this on as part of the general maps. Speaking to Carl, he admits that the standard throttle map (REVO maps don't adjust the throttle map from stock settings) is far too aggressive.

Seems as though people don't know about it really. Its something that I had heard mentioned a few times before by the likes tony_danza and the mk4 track bora guys. I just couldn't live with the switch-like throttle.

So how do I no which map iv got? I had my car mapped about a month ago at revo (Stage one )

I'm 99.9% sure you will have the standard throttle map.

Will @ P-Torque does this type of map too, Rich.

I had it at stage 2 on the Ibiza and I've got it on the ED30  :happy2:

Yeah, most decent mapping companies do it too. I know that Nick @ R-tech is a big fan of linear throttle maps.... *ahem*

I have a revo stage1 map  , the throttle respone at the moment is very aggresive. You barely need to touch the peddle and your wheel spinning. The linear map (which i was unaware of) sounds exactly what the car needs. Progresive aceleration through control of the peddle  :driver:
I'll be booking in with jkm as soon as ...

The VAG ecu calibrators have to set the pedal load to give the "feeling" of power, lot of power with little driver input.  Once mapped the KFPED maps become exaggerated and can end up giving the feeling of an on off switch.

My mate works for jaguar as a calibrator and they set there pedal maps with an axis based on G-force and are setup using an accelerometer sensor to give the feeling of strong pull below x amount of pedal request.. Should be fun to tune..lol

Not the best pic, but this is my linear KFPED map from an Audi TT 1.8T k04 hybrid I am working on tonight.  Axis =  actual pedal position % v RPM = calculated pedal request which then becomes an axis reading for a load map.

Stock map

You can see where the calculated % is way higher than the actual request.

Yes... due to a small stage 1 map mishap.  :popcornsoda:

Ive just had word back from REVO. Any REVO dealer can install the file but they may not all have the specific linear throttle file. So if you want it installed i would contact your nearest dealer and make sure they have got or can get the file from REVO first.

Re: richwig83 - Edition 30... new wash mitt and drying towel!
« Reply #749 on: December 02, 2011, 11:29:16 am »
Bought another couple of car washing goodies the other day.

The first being a new wash mitt.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dodo-Juice-Supernatural-Short-Hair/dp/B004GU52OE

Ive come from a meguires micro fibre mitt and this one is far far superior. It holds a ton of water, glides over the paint very nicely and is as soft as a babies bum. :signLOL:    The only small criticism of it is that its taking a while to dry out.

After use and washed out.

The next was a new drying towel.

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/miracle-dryer-ultra-plush-25-x-36-/prod_362.html

Again... I've come from some rubbish halfrauds towel so this is a massive step up. Dried the whole car with only one small wring out. No criticism, but its not quite as plush as the Dodo juice soft touch.
