Can't decide on what alloys to buy..
« on: February 21, 2011, 02:06:04 pm »
Ok, at long last my extra budget for car mod spending money is due in a couple of weeks, so I've been given a budget that I can "blow" on the car.

I'm having the front of car resprayed by vw as my 1st spend, to cure my stone chip woes, and the other is what wheels to purchase.
I want to keep the Red/black theme going, but I can't decide on whether to go for some BBS Black edition CH's, Taledega 18's in gloss black from the Golf R, or go for something else that would suit the car.

Anyone have any idea's, or help me decide which to plump for?

I'm not interested in lightweight alloys, as she doesn't get used on track , or have enough other traction mods to worry about going Lighter in life.

If you don't mind me asking, how much is it costing you to get the front sprayed? That's definatly something I'd be interested in.

As for wheels, if you've got a huge wedge then get some bbs lm's!  :happy2:

Well, I love the alloys you're running on at the moment. I think they really suit the overall appearance of your car.

^^^ decisions  :signLOL:

Ok i spoke to Vw last year, and they quoted me to do wings, bonnet, front face and spoiler £500, car collected  and courtasy car left for the

duration of a few days.

Going back to the alloys, the offset of one set im looking at is 45 and not 51. My current Detroits are 7.5" wide and ET51. Am i better to go for

8"width and ET45?? What will it do as to regards looks, improoved handling??  I dont want them to stick out like when you shove Scirrocco alloys

on a mk5. It doesnt look right.

Ideally Robin, if i get a 2nd set, and can get Detroits refurbed and stored for warmer/less harsh months.

....Ah, I didn't realise you were considering new alloys as a second set. Glad you're keeping those very Edition 30 shiny black 'uns  :happy2:
