Alan's Reflex Silver GTi.
« on: March 16, 2011, 06:14:31 pm »
Hi guys,
Been a member for a while now, but never got round to putting a members ride thread up. Had the car since last August, decided to get a newer car after messing about with a couple of older vw's for a year or two. A mk1 gti with a 16v lump and a mk2 gti with a g60 installed:

My mk1:

Any way back to the Mk5, the car was when i first got it after a bit of a clean up:

I quickly changed the components for some Focal Access A1's, great speakers for the money and i also decided to run them off my Phoenix Gold amplifier to get the most out of them.  :happy2:

Then i got a bored of the stock ride height and decided to get some coilovers fitted. Went with some FK Highsports, supplied and fitted by Voodoo Motorsport.

Picked up a set of 18" Audi Speedlines which were powdercoated in red, however these didnt last too long though as i really wasnt too keen on them.

And onto how its currently sitting. Picked up a set of Audi Fat 5's a few weeks ago and have been running them since, really happy with them just need to get round to having them refurbished when i get a chance. Thinking of getting them redone in an anthracite finish.

Loving the fat 5s mate, personally I think colour coding would look great with them.

Cheers for the comments guys. Loved the Lhasa Green on the mk1 and oak green is one of my favourite colours for the mk2, got a bit sick of green in the end though  :signLOL:

   Ooooooooh - lovelly mk1 and 2 golfs - just classic. I have a lhasa mk1 20vt in great condition very similar to that and it gets so many looks, thinking of selling it though as I dont use it much - maybe I would regret it like you! Anyway keep up the the good work on the mk5  :happy2:

You'll definitely regret it trust me! I cant wait to get another, as much as i love my mk5 you really cant beat blasting around in a mk1 on a summers evening. I'd imagine its 10x better with a 20vt in the engine bay too  :driver:

Very nice list of motors there mate.
You sticking with the fat 5's? Have a silver 5 myself, and always thought of getting some of them for my winter wheels, or maybe chrome refurb on them.  :happy2:
