Worth fitting K57i intake with stage 1 TSI?

(1/3) > >>

Hey all, recently went stage 1 with my 2.0 TSI, I have a k57i induction kit here also, would it be worth fitting? Was going to buy a new intake but times are hard, lol!

Can anyone recommend a heat shield? And would someone with a 2.0 TSI and intake be kind enough to measure the length and width of the silicone pipe that connects the intake and MAF together

Janner_Sy:
is yours a mk5 or mk6 golf?

daz_pd:
VRS Octy  :happy2:

Janner_Sy:
what age vRS is it? Just wandering if you have the TFSI or TSI as the newer version say TSI etc but are actually TFSI etc.

Ignoring the lettering on these which engine cover do you have

or

Me personnaly i wouldnt fit a K&N on my car. IMO they are just a generic intake.  Id prefer a bespoke kit.  I was given a pipercross(i also consider these a generic intake) venom from a guy on briskoda and that lost me power over the std intake

daz_pd:
you got our wires crossed there bud, the brochure etc still says TFSI, but the 2.0 Engine in my FL Octavia is infact a 2.0 TSI, same as a MK6 GTI and some later MK5 also.
hmmm, do have an ITG panel here, maybe ill pop that in while I save for either the Carbonspeed or ITG intake.....
