Arse end...
« on: June 13, 2011, 04:06:45 pm »
Hi people,

Been weighin up my new motor this weekend while polishing it and iv come to conclusion that the back looks boring as a dry cream cracker.

Think im going to colour code the rear bumper and leave the diffuser bit near the exhaust the grey stippled colour it is now.
AND... Im also thinking maybe the R32 or edition 30 rear lights. Are they the same?
Has anyone seen any different coloured 'GTI' or 'VW' badges etc?

Any more suggestions welcome thankyou

Hi Baz,

Why not check through the members ride/colours section??

I'd say 90% of people have done exactly the same as your thinking of doing  :happy2:

Like most on here I believe the GTI should of came like that from the factory.....

I liked it so much I did it on my GT TDI

I do prefer the R32 rear TBH but I think it's a bit much on a diesel, but perfect on a GTI.

ED30 / R32 lights are one option, also consider tinting yours yourself for not a lot of money, or look into the Valeo LED lights if you wanna spend a bit more  :happy2:

I was fancying an R32/Rline rear bumper for mine, but with the cutout for the GTI tailpipe as opposed to the centre .:R cutout.

Here is a guide I did a little while ago about tinting the rear lights. Cost under £10 to complete!

It is quite an easy mod to do but it takes time to mask up the lights.

I keyed ( lightly scratched using fine wire wool ) the entire lights before doing anything.

I used coachline first to mask the outer circles on the lights and then standard masking tape to the edge of the coachline:

I sprayed two layers of e-tech with the lights in a line so I could get an even coat accross them and used a heat gun to dry them off ( the bodyshop should have closed 5 hours before and I was still in there!  :signLOL: )

I then removed the tape and sprayed the lot with 3 coats of clear lacquer and viola you have the finished item:

Hope this helps  :happy2:
