2.0 GT TDI v 2.0 GTI

On the motorway yesterday evening, driving to meet with up with some mates.

Was cruising quite gently and got overtaken by this 2 litre diesel. Followed it round some corners, a bit of playful 'banter' but noticed I wasn't much faster than it and on the roads, we were both bumping up and down over the same places.

What are the differences between the GTI and GTTDI, other than engine?

Same suspension set up?
Same weight distribution?
Same gearbox?

Torque is the answer your looking for. the TDI's have bags of it especially when a remap is in the equation

Not sure what that means but I had to knock down a gear to overtake.
