Lumbar support retrofit and heated seats retrofit on MK5 Golf Help Please

<< < (5/6) > >>

jason_rmh:
Only a year since buying the Kufatec loom, I decided to attempt wiring in the heated seats today!
I repaired the connector on the drivers seat which was chopped off by previous owner.

Wiring is in the car, routed to the general area. My seats are the later type, with only one heated seat control module under the passenger seat. I have electric lumbar adjustment and digital climate control.
I extended the loom to reach the passenger seat rather than swapping the seat looms over.

Based on the instructions from Kufatec and info from the forum and other sources I have the following wiring:

Earth Wires Brown wires (with ring connectors)Earth point by bonnet release handleClimate control panel blue/redClimate control panel (pin 11)blueClimate control panel (pin 10)greyClimate control panel (pin 12)Fuse Box Red / white (thick wire)fuse box, 37, 30AGrey (thin wire)fuse box, 8, 5A. 4 and 7 are already in use)White (thin wire)CECM, Connector C, Pin 1CECM Grey (thick wire)CECM L2??? Fuse Box???
Im stumped on the thick grey wire. Im not sure if this goes to the fuse box or to the CECM?
If to the fuse box, which socket should it use?
If to the CECM, which connector / pin?

Kufatec says fuse box. But ive seen Central Electrics S44 mentioned in this thread. What does S44 relate to?

Finally, if I out one of these wires in the wrong place, how do I release them without damaging them? I know they have little tabs on, is there a tool used to get them out?

Jas

Eddie-NL:
there is only one wire to the CECM

The grey wire is for the fuse box (i'm sure that is the power for lumber)

Thanks Eddie!
Any pointers on which fuse location to use and what rating.  Its just as thick a wire as the red / white wire.

On another thread you said you had used 20A and it was a permanent live.
Do you know which fuse location to use for lumbar?

Eddie-NL:
I think it is 15A
any permanent live will be ok

jason_rmh:
Great,  ill get it finished today.
If I need to move a wire after ive fitted it, how do you get them out without damaging them?
How do you press the tabs in as theyre quite small.
