Ipod or USB TDI golf
« on: February 16, 2012, 09:12:25 am »
HI

I am wondering if there is a way to add a usb port or an ipod lead to the normal golf M% tdi CD player?

I would love to add either a USB or Ipod Connector somewhere

The quad lock (wiring plug) on the back of the radios are the same mate, so you take the radio out fit the new loom in the quad lock, run the loom down under your centre consle to the armrest and then plug it into the MDI dock

What kind of stereo have you got?

Becuase i think if you get a MDI device and try and add it to your RCD would will only get to play 6 playlists as it will see you Ipod like a CD Changer.

I believe you need an RNS unit to allow you full ipod control with MDI

hi

tbh.....i wouldnt bother with the MDI....

http://www.ebay.de/itm/USB-SD-MP3-Wechsler-CD-Adapter-VW-Golf-4-5-Touran-Polo-/110756043575?pt=CE_Auto_Hi_Fi_Autoradios&hash=item19c9931b37

buy that off ebay, i was using one for 6 months with my standard cd player before i got my RNS, and i've now fitted it to my mates TDI with the RCD300

you can use SD cards with it, or use the aux cable or even an SD card, works with MP3's and you can take it out and use it with any quadlock radio after your done with the car....plus its much much cheaper

you can wire it so that it goes through into the glovebox then velcro it to the top.

Do you just wire it to the back of the cd player? Could I wire it down under the armrest?

well, with both the MDI/that cd changer thing you have to plug it in to VCDS and tick the boxes for MDI/CD changer

you could wire in that little adapter box to wherever you liked! i had mine going all the way around to just below the headlight switch in the little hatch/storage thing

It doesnt say they send to the UK could be worth an email to them mate, if you go on babelfish type in what you want to say and then translate it from english to german and then copy and paste it to them in an email
