Front wing rust warranty success!!

I have a golf mk5 gti 2006 I have go a bit of rust appearing in the front wing would I be able to get it done for free sorry if stupid question

Mine is 2006 & just had the 2 wings done f.o.c



How and what dealer did yours

Just behind the 2 front arches, wasn't anything major but chanced my arm & went prepared. Which dealer did you go to? I went with Agnews on Boucher, Ian Magowan is their warranty guy. He wasn't overly helpful at first but I produced the tech bulletin & passed him this thread on my phone.

If I went into my local dealer VW and asked them and showed them this thread would they be able to help

I had mine done 2 weeks ago on my '55 GTi, FOC and with a courtesy car (All be it a fiat 500 lol), had 2 new wings as they were beyond repair.

I was gutted when I had to hand that little yellow beast back.

Although I don't miss being called "Mr Tumble" or "Noddy"  :)

I didn't see a problem with a 6'2" 16 Stone male driving a bright yellow and white 500

2005 mate. It shouldnt make any difference to the claim what age it is or what service history is like. The only thing they check is paint depth to see if any repairs have been made

Well im now cruising about in a 14 plate Skoda Fabia. Im not sure on the engine. I think its a 3 cyl petrol with about 4hp haha. Was coming home and nearly died with laughter when i spoted the ESP off button. I dont think it would be capable of breaking traction of any sort at any time. But a nice touch if i really want to drop the hammer !!!

Probably the same engine in the Polo that I had. Nearly got rear ended by a lorry on the A47 as I couldn't get up to speed quick enough when pulling out of a junction

Theres a small twisty section of b-road on my way home. Felt like i was doing about 120mph but in reality it was more like 35 haha. Scary, scary car i miss mine allready!!

Also has anyone had a repai to a sill paid for 100% recently? My dealer phoned yesterday to say the front arch will be covered in full, but only 50% of the sill.

I want to contact VW with regards to why the rear arches are no longer covered, and would mention the other 50% of the sill too.

I've been offered 50% on my drivers rear arch.

I thought they wouldn't have done it on a 05 plate that's why I've not taken mine. Might give it a try

Definately worth a try. The inspection takes about 10 mins. Theres nothing to loose.
