2 tyre questions
« on: September 29, 2012, 12:15:06 am »
OSR tyre not holding pressure; drops off gradually and needs pumped every couple of weeks.
Can anyone advise me where to start? Valve I suppose?

Also, part worn tyres...anyone fitted these or should I have my head examined?

Thanks in advance.

Valve checked.

Submerse tyre and wheel in a big drum of water and check for leaks.

Dont be a tight arse and buy new tyres.... they are the only thing that it keeping you on the road!

I've bought part worms but only from a source I trust.

If you go to a decent tyre shop they will probably investigate your slow puncture by removing the tyre and refitting a new valve. No puncture no fee.

If not the tyre or valve it can be caused by corrosion on the seating surface inside the wheel. I had this on my old mk4. Tyre place dressed them up and it stopped losing pressure.
