Diverter Valve Rev G or D?
thegreatricardo:
I went with the piston type rev D, after the rev C diaphragm split I didn't want another part of similar design.
adminkatana:
Does the DV ever get checked if the car is serviced by a dealer?
I've got a stock GTI that is 06, 68k miles. It's always been serviced by a VW dealer. I might get it mapped in the summer to Stage 1.
I'm not even sure which DV it currently has on there. It's the only GTI I've driven so not really sure if its 'down' on power etc. What would you recommend? Is it best to get it put on a Dyno to see what condition its in? Or going along to a good independent who can take the DV off and have a look? When I asked last time I was at the VW dealership I just got a blank stare.
Thanks for your help!

If your planning on a remap and as far as you are aware this hasn't been looked at before, then I would be changing it. It's not part of VW's scheduled service plan to check the Diverter valve.
if its the ORIGONAL one, chances are at that age it will be split.
adminkatana:
Great, Thank you.
How would you recommend to change it? I am pretty rubbish at these kind of things and would probably crush myself under the car.
I can either ask VW next time I am nearby, although I fear they will rip me off heavily for doing so, or find an Independent around here? Also, I know its quite tricky to change on a K03 GTI, but is there any way I can shove my iPhone in its approx location to take a photo to determine which version is already on there?
Thank again!
Kinks:
Are there no uprated DV valves? Ie forge, APR or the likes?
