Thank for all the kind words guys  :drinking:
Iv finally found myself a normal job that pays alright, only 40 hours a week and Monday to Friday so I'll actually have some spare time to finally finish the quad light solution off  :jumping:

@mateyguv i followed your guide on the quad lights but tiger sealed them 3 times.  Left a 3 day drying time in between and still holding on fine since may this year.  I might remove them this week to take a look at them and see if they are splitting or not.

Hello mate,

Good to hear yours are still holding - your getting condensation in the lens though ain't you? I like the inner lens to be flush with the boot skin so tighten them right up so that's maybe why mine separate cause of how tight I do the nuts. From my testing the tiger seal always failed eventually so I didn't want that to happen and kept developing my method. Iv come up with a way that will not fail and seals perfectly - I'm fussy like that and want the knowledge that they won't split over time. I found that the problem with tiger is the surface area your asking it to bond is so thin it doesn't really stand a chance in the long run. I hope yours to hold though  :happy2:
Did you photoshop your grills lipstick? What do you think?

@mateyguv i had a very small amount of condensation once in one of them when it rained really heavily but never since.

Yeah I know what you mean about the thin surface area, got me worried at first an all.
Didnt photoshop it yet,  waiting to see how it looks on the car when i get the bumper sprayed and fitted and then take it from there.

Found some smart genuine MK5 plaid/tartan bits and couldn't help ordering them (sad I know)

All from walletwerks.com

Card holder and key fob

Another shameless photo

Iv decided to keep my car undercover as I am using my Skoda as a daily and the golf stays on the drive most the time. Iv found a storage solution 10 mins from me that is secure, insulated and has got power to it. I can come and go when I please and my next bay neighbours are a rather tasty MK1 convertible and an Aston Martin DB9
It is strange not seeing her on my drive but she is covered from the elements and out of sight so I'll get used to it

I absolutely love how you've laid out your card holder etc so that the pattern still continues. Thoroughly pleasing my OCD

Hi guys, just spent a few hours reading this forum and found it better than reading a best seller, just waiting for the next chapter, keep up the good work.

Thought I'd give the MK7 climate panel mod a go -  never liked the MK6 as, imvho, looks like there are loads of blank switches on it.

I got the scirocco surround as its flat and not recessed in like the Mk7 so think it'll suit the Mk5 better. I plan to chop the Mk5 and scirocco surround tops off the plastic weld the scirocco lower to the mk5 upper and then it should fit perfectly. I'll need to spray it when done to match of course. Think it'll look cool

 Yessss!!! Have considered the mk7 but I wouldn't know where to start with the trim so looking forward to your craftsmanship. Can you match the oem finish or have you got different finish on your trims?

As the Golf is in storage thought it would be best to get a Carcoon to keep her safe and sound

After talking to the guys at Carcoon I thought the Large Veloce would be best but I was a little worried about the standard plastic as from reviews people said it was a bit thin. Carcoon asked where it was going to be kept etc and offered to make me one with the thicker outdoor spec skin. It wouldn't have any Windows but that wasn't an issue for me. Bought it and 10 days later it arrived. I put a plastic membrane down then an 18mm thick chipboard base down

Set up was easy and now the golf is all protected

Quality bit of kit and the guys at Carcoon couldn't have been more helpful  :notworthy:
