Golf 5 GTi K04 upgrade help needed

I know this topic has been spoken about before. And I've found some useful advice on what all ill need..
But there is just one unanswered question I need to know urgently..
The standard K03 went on my GTi and I want to upgrade to the K04 from the Audi S3 8p but money is very tight for me at the moment and now I'm stuck without my car.. so the question I need answering to is what is the requirements i need just to fit the K04 onto my car just to get it running? I know it won't perform with full potential but I just really need it running.. all other parts ill get as time goes on to get the full potential out of it.. and I don't want to spend money on buying another K03 just to spend more money buying the K04 later..
Plus I can get a brand new genuine K04 for a great price now

You'll need a new map for the k04 as using a k03 map with a k04 will lead to over boost problems.

btw what price can you get the k04 for?

Whatever you do, don't fit the turbo and injectors then drive round like a loon. You will do some damage!

If you are going to upgrade you need the whole suite of parts in one (these are listed fully in other threads)

Example of what's required:

- K04 turbo
- discharge pipes
- DV relocation pipes
- s3 injectors
- gaskets

If I was in your situation I'd buy a K03 and save up for the k04 bits. You can get a a k04 later and sell the K03 then.

It's just not worth trying to half-ar5e it  :happy2:

S3 injectors, K04 turbo, dv relocation kit and a remap from someone like RTEC and you will be knocking on the door of 300Hp for around £1000-1500 depending on how wel you can bargain hunt.

Will you also need an upgraded FMIC? I have my old S3 OEM FMIC for sale if you are interested.
