car wont start when hot!! Update: ECU at fault

UPDATE: Ecu at fault does anyone know who can rebuild ecu's in the midlands area


recently my car wont start when warm, cold start is fine starts straight away. i have the traction control light on and esp light. when i turn my key to ignition the engine light does not come on either plus the temperature gauge has a mind of its own

ive taken it to various garages all baffled ive had the following changed:-

crank sensor
engine temperature sensor
glow plug relay
new battery

none have rectified the problem. a vw parts specialist stated that my Ecu needs a reset as it might be blocked or ecu might have gone  :confused:

this is my last vagcom check wont scan now either with vagcom

Check the wiring to the ECU

Had a similar issue on a 6R polo, turned out to be 2 wires that were damaged

will have a look today for any broken wires. ecu gets hot so wont communicate with engine when its cold it starts first time

it is not just a case of looking at the wires you need to check them properly.

the polo was the same, would run till it got to temperature then it would cut out.

as the problem got worse it wouldn't start at all and vcds wouldn't communicate with the ECU in the end

thanks thats exactly what my problem is will get the wiring tested then
