Who should I use to remap my ED30 to stage 1?
« on: July 08, 2014, 12:03:26 pm »
I know this has been touched on many times before and reading into this R-tech look like the guys to go to but just wondered if there is anywhere closer to home that will offer an equally good custom map and service at a decent price. I'm based in Reading but commute to Portsmouth most weeks. I was also thinking about getting an intake and deleting the pre cat before the map, will this increase my gains significantly?

JKM and Revo in Portsmouth, but Revo are twice the price for an equivalent RTech remap... Your choice ;-)

When you look at it like that IMO it's a no brainier! Let's add some mileage to the car!

I've been offered 30% off a Revo Stage 1 for a KO3 GTI. I was previously set on getting a Bluefin, but now they are pretty much the same price it's a hard choice. Just can't make my mind up even after reading through many many threads on here.

Seeing as there isn't the usual price advantage of Bluefin over Revo is that what you'd go for?

Avoid Blufin, not great maps and both your cars are capable of achieving so much more.

R-Tech.....end of.

A custom map with many unique features, some for everyone from Stage 1 and some for more modded cars at stage 2, stage 2+ and beyond. TIV maps, LBK VVT maps, linear, progressive, DSG maps, switchable maps, Traction control mapping blah blah blah.

Have a look around the R-Tech section and read some reviews/write up. You'll not find an unhappy customer no matter how hard you look. Its worth the journey, no matter where you are and the cost is more than comparable to the generic maps from REVO, APR etc.

Any more info please feel fee to PM me.

Happy modding.

Yeah def going to give them a call, I like the idea of being able to map the ED30 to how I like to drive it, maybe even a dsg remap could be on the cards aswell. Will an intake and precat delete add much overall?

^^^^ Somewhere around 320 bhp and ft lb probably. A decent TBE would benefit your car as would a intercooler and HPFP.

There's always The Phirm at Hook, so you probably go near them on your way to Portsmouth. Give Tim a ring, he's got loads of knowledge. They offer Revo, did mine and I'm very pleased. Great service.
