The most I've had is 35mpg but my island is 9x5 miles and top speed of 40mph lol

Hope this doesn't sound like a silly question but does a remap help?

Guernsey by any chance?

Jersey.

There is a edition 30 on Jersey.

I never fill up for than £25 per week an that enough to keep me ticking over at around half a tank so I dont know what my range around town is tbh

On the motorway I do 300 mile round trips at around 80 miles and still have around 70-80 miles ranges left according to the computer which I find quite accurate.

Although given this weather Ive been doing 90mph on the same trip and returning the same fuel efficiency

Im sure I can reach well north of 450miles if i drive with an already warm engine on a nice day at 60mph- Ive managed 43.6mpg on such a short trip with the reading still increasing but i dont plan on doing that style of driving for a very long time. it was one of those finished work cant be bothered, just cruise and listen to some good music!  :happy2:

Bog standard GTi, 32 miles each way daily to work and back, each way had 25 miles of 30,40&50mph zones and the rest is a 70 limit, approx 360 per tank, averages 32-38mpg dependent on traffic (tractors etc)

I get an average of about 350 miles per tank of fuel, lately been seeing 40+ mpg on my read out.

Interestingly, I get more miles out of a tank from Esso Supreme unleaded. Used to use Tesco Momentum but the Esso fuel feels better and seems to correlate with my higher miles per tank.

I got 18.6 mpg on an 8 mile round trip within West London today. Traffic was so shoite that i got beyond giving a fig about mpg so boosted up to 30mph in 2nd & 3rd gear whenever i could on the return leg - let the turbo stretch its legs a little   :driver:  :jumpmove:  :rolleye:

the way i saw it, without the moments of amusement on the way back, i could have maybe achieved 24 mpg on an utterly feckless journey better suited to a 1 litre sh*ttybox but i have a GTI and i'm going to use her dagnabit!  :drinking:

I want to argue you and say that you don't need to boot it all the time...

But I can't. :happy2: Nothing beats a bit of turbo kick.

Agreed! If the engines warmed up and the roads clear might as well have some fun  :driver:

Best I've ever had is 48mpg on my way to work which is 13 mile trip, I get 42mpg daily on that same journey.

Fuel consumption doesn't really bother me as it's not why I bought the car but it's nice to know that on a steady drive to work I can get those figures.

LOL ^ Si

Not a GTI, but I've got GTI/Ed30 power.

Usual range in winter is around 510 miles. Summer, goes up to 580-600 on mixed easy going driving.
Nurburgring run saw 720 miles to a tank, 59.7 mpg average for that tank.

I was on track at Bedford last week and I averaged between 17-29 mpg between warm/cold laps. Used a smidgen under half a tank for around 34 laps in total.

Sounded alright too, I can't complain on the black pumps

What do you drive Pete?

I can get 400 miles out of my mk4 r32, although my work commute is mostly motorway miles.

Getting my ED30 next week and I was hoping to get a few more from the tank...
