Jaffa's GTI
« on: October 19, 2014, 11:21:14 pm »
Thought it was about time to post up a build thread

My first car was a 1.4 mk5 golf but after i had that a few years i wanted more power and 5 doors so started looking for a gti

I ended up buying a reflex silver 5 door with DSG and Leather interior

here it is the day after i bought it

and after i had my coilovers  fitted

My first mod was to put on my R32 rear lights from my old car and lower it on some coilovers

Sold my monza 2's as i hate them and fired some 19" speedily reps that my brother had

Next mod was a Neuspeed P Flo intake and stage 1 remap

Had some RS4 reps as winter wheels

Threw on my BBS Calitos, bought a mMK6 rear badge

Bought a set of GT grills and hella xenon look headlights and lamin-x on the foglights

Bought a set of R32 brakes painted them green and had my BBS VZ painted in negaro black

My brother bought some VMR 710 reps so i ran them for a while

was time to upgrade the head unit so i went for a RNS 510 and wrapped some interior pieces in carbon vinyl

Got a good deal on some 3sdm 0.05s so i couldn't say no

One thing i missed from my ild car was the highline clocks so i got my hands on some R32 clocks and modded them to be red and white looks much better IMO

Got a MK6 climate panel and cherry red hazard  along with some mk6 switches

Bought more wheels, Rota grids 17x9 et 42 all round

Got a great deal on some MK6 GTD seats that iv wanted for years

Had a votex front splitter and rear bumper fitted and painted along with the side skirts and parking sensors smoothed

Also fitted my brothers Rota G Force after being powder coated in matte metallic grey

Just need to get some new engine cover mounts so i can fit my freshly fitted cover

Iv probably missed bits out but thanks for reading!  :happy2:

So many wheels! You must have quite the collection! The Rota's look better then I thought they would to be fair. Sweet ride though mate!

That's a nice mod. Have you considered making a "how to"?

Other members I'm sure would also love it. The white lights look great!

i think i saw a diy on here about doing it, but its pretty self explanitory

once you open up the clocks you just de solder the smd's you want to change and solder in the new ones making sure they are the same way round.

Very nice looking mk5 you have there, looking at all the pictures of the different wheels really makes you see how a wheel style can really change the appearance of a car. Each wheel set you've tried gives the car a completely different look.

So many wheels! You have a great project! :drinking:

I'd love to get some mk6 GTD seat as well but for their cost I have other priorities.

Just not loving the green calipers. Maybe white would look nice. Red would be more GTI'ish.

Cheers

I love my gtd seats got them for a good price of £500 which I think is good considering there's been a set of rears on eBay for months for £250-£300

And there heated which I think makes them even more rare!

Iv been thinking of repainting my brakes maybe a copper or something but that'll be next year atleast

I can tell you one thing, they won't be going red as I hate red!

Just looking to do little mods to do over the winter already done led door lights, interior LEDs, boot pop, rear footwell LEDs, and full circle and skyline mod

All good mods. :congrats:

You got your seats for a great price indeed. For that price and being heated I would have gone for them too.

Copper is a good colour for your Golf. :happy2:
