BSH PCV Stage 1 vs Stage 2...

I know the difference is in the Catch Can...

But is the Stage 2 much more of an advantage?! I'm just not too confident I'll remember to keep emptying my Can, so thinking about selling the Stage 2 and buying a Stage 1!!!

IIRC it was advised to just empty can everytime you change the oil ;) so i think you would remember ?

i would stick with the stage 2 mate, seems a lot more practical

From what I'm reading the Can will fill up quicker the more you are in higher revs (Not that I'll be sitting at 6500rpm), but this does mean the can could fill up and I'll not know or remember...

I'm just wondering Stage 1 vs Stage 2, is there an actual advantage?! I mean does the Stage 2 help the engine even more than the Stage 1 or isnt there much of a difference?!

Yeah I'm just not too keen on the emptying part LOL!

So I'm guessing that Stage 1 have advantages over Stock...and Stage 2 has advantages over Stage 1, but Stage 1 has the advantage over Stage 2 when it comes to being able to "fit and forget"?!

Think the Stage 1 is probably more suited to me really! I want to see the advantages, but not have to remember to empty the can, or more so, have the fear of it filling up before I've emptied it (end of the day is a guessing game right?)

If you modify your car in any way this will increase the regular maintenance you should carry out. I for one have no issue with this but if you do you should think carefully before modding.  :happy2:

It's a two minute job to empty the can and at most you will need to do this every few months.  :smiley:

I'll see how it goes! Not 100% sure still!

There are Pro's and Con's to both IMO, and for my personal use!

i have fitted the latest oem pcv and it is holding the remap boost presure perfectly its the revision L the one i removed was F

fwiw if you install the stage 1 fix, you can upgrade at a later date to stage 2 with catch can without having to purchase the full stage 2 dedicated kit. This upgrade kit is cheaper than the dedicated stage 2 kit.

I have that can, and the retaining ring in the pic, is supplied by BSH.
