Stage 2+ - Fuel cuts with CEL
« on: April 22, 2015, 11:11:44 am »
Hi guys,

I've just purchased a 3 door Candy White GTi with a few extra's. It's running stage 2 according to a printout from 'More-BHP' at 275bhp and 390(nm?) torque. Hardware mods are - Forge Twintake, Forge Twintercooler, TBE. No upgraded HPFP.

First day, on motorway pulled fine with throttle all the way down.

Yesterday however on motorway pulled fine until i got to the higher gears and higher revs and it cut out boost/fuel and pulled back. Once revs/speed dropped the power came back, before going again. This happened again later in the night as a stock ED30 was having a little push, promptly overtaking once the road became 2 lanes as I was driving with no boost. Little while later, the CEL came on. Car pulls absolutely fine when my foot is 3/4's down.

My thoughts are that the hpfp can't cope with the increase fuel requests when the throttle's completely open? Anyone had any similar issues around here? Would my only option be to actually purchase either upgraded internals/pump?
