« on: July 18, 2015, 11:32:23 pm »
Just having a look threw eBay, Saw a couple of cheap car back exhaust's

Has anyone bought one? I wouldn't expect any performance gains but wondering if they sound any good?

Personally wouldn't risk it myself
For similar price you could buy a decent used miltek catback

Contact road runner seller on ebay if you pay by card over phone they usually do a secent price on Miltek systems (under £400 for cat back?  :happy2:

I've not seen any used milltek's for around £250? They seem to be atleast another £100 on top of that?

Are there any proven performance gains with a milltek cat back exhaust? I already have a pipewerx decat down pipe.

Seen bad things on other forum where the welds crack and corrode. Same as the cheap downpipes. Save your money and buy a used one from the better brand names.

i am by no means an expert on exhausts but I'm sure someone will have further input on this and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure i've read on a thread a while back about certain eBay ones being fine but its down to which one you choose to get as some have bigger flexi pipe in which is better? Something to do with causing less pressure on the welds etc?.. Therefore less likely to have any problems with welds cracking as mentioned above..

like i said.. I'm no expert but someone may add to this that knows more about these things than i do which will then give you something to think about when looking..

There's a company on eBay that sell "direnza" exhausts. Not heard anything about them and there's not much in the way of reviews about them online but there 2.75" diameter like the milltek.

If your not planning on keeping the car for a few years then I wouldn't see an issue with an eBay exhaust... They can't be that bad where the welds are splitting within 12 months?

TI had a sportex exhaust on my last car Citroen C2 VTS (center section plus back box) It sounded lovely but the fitment wasn't great and had to return to the garage to have re-fitted not once but twice as it seemed to develop creaking and knocking noises over time (Brackets bending??).

I'd hold out for at least a stainless exhaust if possible.
