Hi guys,

Some updates on the car.

I changed the battery because the old one was weak. Sometimes, in the morning, i had to insist to start the engine and i had some defaults on the VCDS because of that.

I ordred a black GTI trim for the steering wheel. I am waiting

A neighbour has advised me that I should also change out the main bearings while I'#039m in there, as new connecting rod bearings will somehow negatively affect main bearings? Is this true?

Even if it is true, is it possible to change the main bearings on this engine without removing the crankshaft?

I'#039m not too concerned with oil pressure anymore ever since I re

Pleased to say the Golf the passed its MOT -
I was a little nervous of my new PipeWerx sport-cat downpipe, been reading a lot of alarming reports on here of these failing their first MOT...
But shouldn'#039t have worried, it provided CO figures of:
Fast idle - 0.07% - Maximum of 0.20%
Natural idle - 0.04% - Maximum of 0.30%

Typical - last night after a

Everything's gotten more expensive in the past year or so.  I've been following 718 Boxster prices and they are @£10k up on Spring 2020.  Inevitably the rarest / youngest / lowest mileage / best examples will attract the best prices, so £10k+ doesn't seem crazy and is still below the average used car price (now £16k I read the other day).

I had very similar symptoms and it was the throttle body. Well in the end it wasn't, it was the wiring to the throttle body causing the problem.  Eventually it became undrivable and I had a bunch of warning lights plus limp mode

After nearly 10 years, unfortunately the time has come to sell my pride and joy. How does the for sale area on the forum work? Apologies but haven’t been on the forum for a few years!

Two tankful’s in on the Esso and the mpg is better than ever.  23.5 average on short journeys around town, don’t think I have ever seen more than 20 before for similar school run driving.

Ah OK, that's annoying.  I won't be allowed to fit a bigger turbo

Mind you, he didn't say the bigger turbo was mandatory though

It may be average to you, but a lot of them are below average in condition now, so yours is in fact above average  :happy2:

That's a funky price!  I like Lemforder stuff and their online catalogue makes it easy to get all the part numbers to cross ref on ebay.

I will be watching this as I need to do the same to mine.  It'll be nice to have a pert rear end again.

Standard 3 door GTI in shadow blue
      £5750.00
      Location: Kent
      Collection Only

Hi all, Seeing if anyone is interested in my 3 door shadow blue GTI. It is a nice example of a standard car with no rust. I am not in any need to sell however it seems a shame as it has mostly been in storage this year due to other projects so I would let it go to another enthusiast. Details as follows:

Four Michelin PS4’s fitted on 6th January 2021. Full service carried out on 4th January 2021 including genuine VW cambelt and water pump, oil was replaced with Millers Nanodrive CfS 5w-40 NT+. Both rear brake calipers have been replaced with TRW OEM calipers. PCV and DV have been changed (GFB+ DV fitted). Currently on a private plate and this is not included. Lots of receipts and history with the car and fully stamped service book present. Fitted with full leather including armrest, and RNS510 with Bluetooth phone connection. I have just had the front arch liners out and all wheels off for a clean and seal ready for winter. 99k miles, manual.  £5750. Kent.
