Traction control light
Last Poster: Moley05 in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on Today at 04:18:41 pm
Hi everyone, I was just hoping to get some advice. I have a mk5 golf 2008 gt and recently the traction control light has come up. I have scanned my car and these codes have come up. I know next to nothing about cars but from the looks of it seems like it is an abs fault of some sort. Was just hoping someone could maybe advise what the problem could be. Thanks a lot!

Will look into it this coming spring. Yesterday I've had a laser wheel alignment done (every wheel was out of factory specs) and now it seems to hop less overall.

Taking a day off and attacking this job tomorrow. Found another workshop manual stating the 20Nm plus 45 degrees, so doing this as it is the most common result I have found. I will then check the torque after

Funnily enough, I just bought some Bilt Hamber stuff nbsp nbsp UB for the impact areas (wheel arches etc) and UC to cake everything else under there, plus some nbsp hydrate 80 to eat the rust from bolts etc and any other areas that need it. nbsp I went with spray cans as it'#039s easier. nbsp I still have some old Wurth cavity wax left over for the doors and what not. Just get the Passat B6 ones as they'#039ll be cheaper. Get the Passat alloy knuckles as well. Slightly different tie rod angle so the steering response sharpens up a bit too, not to mention an unsprung weight reduction.
I ended up buying the wishbones and s3 bushes/consoles in

Following up on the previous post, put the car back together. Ended up not painting the bumper. I'#039d rather do it when it'#039s hot outside. Melted some plastic to fill the cracks and glue the ruptured parts together. Replaced the bent fender support. Fortunately the headlight was untouched. While at it, also replaced both bumper supports cause the old ones were cheap knocko

I am guessing about 2007 they made the change, but depends I suppose on the build date of the engine as seen 2007 S3's and even a 2012 Mk6 R with grooved adjusters. VWG make a lot of engines so some may have sat before being put in a car and missed the update.
VW can be hit and miss sometimes.

Thank you! Yup, I also love the color - could have been better if it was green, but I really can'#039t complain... The interior and exterior color were a big factor in choosing the car. As a funny thing, when I bought the Golf (almost 17 years ago), I couldn'#039t conceive of having a bright color interior. I couldn'#039t stand it... Now black seems so dull and I have bright interiors
Cutting out and won't start

I'#039m looking for some guidance on what to check for the following issue:
Car started fine yesterday morning, made it about 1km from the house before it cut out on me and stopped. Car wouldn'#039t start again. Left it for the day as I had plans and when I came back to it around 10 hours later it started up fine and ran no issues.
My thoughts so far: - When I
Alarm stuck on

Hi guys I’m having this issue where my alarm will randomly come on and it will not go off, the only way to stop it is to disconnect the battery. It started at work today when it went off and would not stop even though I had unlocked it with the key and it won’t stop When I unplug the battery I have about 1 minute before it goes off Everything else on the car works
Re: Forged con rods with stock pistons?
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Performance Modifications on October 19, 2024, 09:34:31 pm
I figured doing just rods and replacing the piston rings is enough since I dont want to big turbo or go above 400hp. Just wanna max out that K04.
We'#039ll see tho, I'#039ve put everything on hold till late spring, when it gets hot enough to work on the car again since no heated garage. I prolly wont do pistons and rods unless I get a hybrid K04 since with a stock one it'#039s no

Damn now I have 2 of these things laying at home. One from my mk4 backup vehicle and one from a friend's Audi. Should clean them up and re sell them honestly if it's that easy of a job
