As you know we have moved to a more reasonably priced server.

I have setup this PayPal pool. Don't go crazy  :rolleye:  I think the hosting will cost 20 to 25 a month but maybe less.

I would also like to add an anti spam subscription which will cost 8 a year. DONE

1.9 TDi running completely fine - then shuts off - needs a new engine?
Last Poster: ArvisR in Mk5 General Area on Today at 01:15:55 pm
This started when my 1.9Tdi golf - 2007 , started acting a bit strange. A few days before the final shut down happened …. The engine would be running completely fine, have plenty of power and no other signs that something is wrong.
What was happening though, is that sometimes when I turn the engine on… it would start normally but then stall. Then I’d attempt to turn it back on

If you’re keeping the original brakes, then a 16” spare will clear them. Either will do.

Re: Does my timing chain need replacing?
Last Poster: mjmallia in Mk5 General Area on Today at 07:23:35 am
The small cam chain starts to fail (well the tensioner is the main culprit) usually between 80k and 100k on average (rattling noises until it gives up and makes the engine eat itself), so at that miles I would be surprised if it has not be changed in the past.......but would say it would be worth changing for peace of mind

I believe that those specs are related to the ca

Thanks Pudding.

I don't have an issue with cutting the bump stops. If it prevents harshness and there aren't other issues with cutting them, then I don't see why you wouldn't cut them.

Is there a idle speed control valve on mk5 GTi'#039s orna throttle switch clicker that needs a squirt of WD40 ?

You'#039re definitely not a zoomer with that question nbsp

A good time to get the plastic/PTFE ones in then as it will slow the wear right down!

Yeah you will either get the rattle again if a ring breaks, or if it's oil pressure related, a "Cam adjustment - slow response" fault code.

Good stuff. VCDS is invaluable for troubleshooting stuff that doesn'#039t light up the CEL.

There certainly is. nbsp Mine is currently flopping into and out of limp mode frequently these days. nbsp Some days it'#039s a tarmac shredder, and other days it struggles to keep up with an Hyundai i20. nbsp As usual, zero fault codes. nbsp Just the ECU being all grumpy cat on me.

You could try this company for the buckled wheel. nbsp Bike specialists but they do car wheels too. nbsp You can send them the wheel.

Just a quick update incase anyone coming to this forum has similar problems - the 3"quot Magnaflow universal cat was fitted to my downpipe really easily. nbsp I'#039ve been driving it for a couple of weeks now, and the PO420 code hasn'#039t returned!

MK7 GTDs are deceiving! nbsp They don'#039t feel fast at all to drive (MK6 GTD feels quicker), but come up against one that'#039s game for a race in your GTI, they can take a lot of work to overtake!

If you'#039d said you'#039d lost a rolling race to a Prius, then fair enough, your car has problems. nbsp But a GTD isn'#039t anything to be ashamed of, especially a DSG one, with only a 20hp de

I have recently spent a small fortune on a new lens and some Lee filters as i fancy trying my hand at long exposure shots during the day. So post up your pictures, lets see what you have taken i could do with some ideas.
Night shots are very welcome to as obviously they are long exposures.

Still no power to head unit.... i will re-check the fuses tomorrow!

Although the windscreen heater button doesn'#039t light up, i can still hear a solenoid flick in the fusebox when it is pressed.

I have removed the unit with the 3 dials in - thinking i am best off findi
