DBA T2 rotors with DS2500's here. Works like a charm, ~2 years on them now.

Mk5 General Area / Re: rough idle/misfire without fault code

Yes and no.

The rings I mentioned gave a lumpy idle that sounded like a misfire, but the car was not misfiring due to a lack of oil pressure to the cam phaser not being able to manage it correctly.

I also had a misfire on cly4 due to carbon build up but still that was not registered as an error code but could see the count and hear it also.

I have MTEC front and rear grooved and have worked well for a few years now.  I have had the Brembos, Pagid and ATE variants in the past.......all with good results.

I have the Brembo pads currently and they work well with the MTEC's

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it! The drilled Brembo Xtra discs definitely look better, and they’re about £200 cheaper than what the VW dealer quoted for OEM’s. Not too sure about Pagid or ATE’s though.

The least amount of issues you will have with the OEM setup. The Xtra Brembo setup won't to anything when it comes to performance. They only look cool because they are drilled. I have some cheap brembos in the back and haven't had any issues with them. A shop that's close to me uses them for all customer cars and have 0 issues.

Hi everyone, I’m looking at upgrading to Brembo Xtra discs and pads all around on my 2008 Golf GTI. Has anyone here tried them before? Are they worth it, or would you recommend sticking with genuine VW discs and pads instead? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

i have a vw 2009 model it has a BWA engine which is a 2 litre petrol and the vehicle its automatic.  its VIN is wvwzzz1kz9m307742.  the car has a problem of fan the fan isnt kicking in in time and also its very slow kicking even when it kicks in very slow power and then stops. kicks in again then stops. am suspecting the fuses are rearranged badly and i have tried to go everywhere i cant find the exact fuse diagram i cant find it i need your help if someone can have the diagram of the fuses how they should be. i think my mech rearranged them and there is trouble now because its over heating. one other problem, when you turn it on after a few minutes without stepping on the brakes you can see the green light for brakes blinking and you can hear a sound in the gear box as if something is happening . the abs light is on when i insert the machine to look at the codes it says abs isnt communicating . so i dont know whether the pump might be faulty . so the car speeddometer when the abs is on doesnt calibrate what speed am in but it comes and goes when its not there the car speedometer is fine. please assist me with the fuse box diagram i have attached a photo of my fuse box[/img]
