Re: Clubsport S discs with MK6R / MK5 R32 calipers (and weight difference)
Last Poster: pudding in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 07:29:58 pm
Clubsport S discs aren't 'light' but the steel quality of the rotor is much better than the regular discs, plus the alloy bell will resist warping.

I used them with 340mm GTI PP/Cupra R/S3 calipers, not the R32/6R 345mm calipers and it was a good setup, apart from the top of the pedal feeling softer than stock.

-11% fuel trim at idle is substantial.  Should be closer to zero.  What brand of MAF did you fit?  Aftermarket intake?

Last Poster: pudding in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on Yesterday at 07:22:56 pm
You don'#039t get fuel trim adaptations when the purge valve fault codes, so I would get that sorted sooner rather than later. nbsp Start in the order of cost - Fuel cap, purge valve then charcoal canister (genuine). nbsp Sometimes replacing all 3 is the only way to get rid of it.

Just been reading up on this as I have the dreaded headliner sag. Haven’t posted in ages but needs must. Did you manage to have a go and fix the headliner @rich83 ? I have ordered a sample of that material in black as well. Mine is a MK5 black pearl 5 door with sunroof … joy at all those cutouts.

If anyone want to donate now.

I phoned TPS to get a DSG service kit and was asked did I want 5 or 6 litres, so asked for 6 just to make sure I had plenty. On all things I'#039ve seen and read it was saying usually 4.5 - 5 litres drains out. I'#039d noticed some oil gathering around the filter head so thought it was going to be a bit lower, but when I drained it roughly 3.4 litres came out so I thought it had lost a l

Just get one made by INA. Even if you buy one from a VAG dealer...INA might even be on the spec sticker (this was the case for some time. However, I just got a new CF from my local dealer yesterday (Oregon, US), and INA was not on the spec sticker. They might have a new supplier now. Obviously...most parts from a VAG dealer are supplied by other sources. Just need to know which cur

Timing issue

Hi there. I bought a mk5 gti and was told that the timing belt had been replaced recently.
Today I decided to check the timing using vcds and it didn'#039t look good.
The phase position is -9 degrees. On cold start I can hear a slight rattle so I think the chain is up for a change. But doesn'#039t -9 seem a bit excessive if the chain is the only problem? From what I have hear

Aircon / climate control turns on by itself
Last Poster: Dre in Mk5 General Area on July 20, 2024, 10:19:14 pm
Hi guys, as the title says I've just been out in my car and the aircon and climate control is turning on by itself. I press off and then notice it comes on again by itself after a few minutes. I had to turn it off at least 3/4 times on a 15 minute drive.

Can anyone shed any light on what the issue is.

You must have a good relationship with TPS to get a genuine water pump and belt kit for £150. nbsp Dealer price for all that is well over double.
We don'#039t use TPS much at all really. I know in the past when I used to use them quite regularly and you could actually go inside and spea

Been a while since the last update.. I have spent way more hours than I wanted on doing this but here goes.

I was trying to find a knocking noise from the front end of the car after installing the BC Racing coilovers and had changed virtually everything and still couldn'#039t get rid of it. I reached out to BC Racing to see if they could inspect them for any dampening issue

Edition 30 Rear Valance -Pearl Black (Genuine Part)
£80.00
Location: Manchester
Collection Only

For Sale is my old Pearl Black Edition 30 rear valance. This clips into the upper section of your rear bumper.
This was removed from my golf due someone backing into me at low speed causing surface cracks. (they offered to pay for a new valance)

The surface cracks are around the the number plate area which I've tried to photo the best i can.

The exhaust surround has been bonded back on by the body shop after an encounter with a high kerb a few years ago.

There are storage scratches on the paintwork so will need respraying. You will also need a towing eye cover.

All clips to clip the valance upper bumper section are intact and there is no sign of warping.

This is a genuine valance and was fitted to my ED30 from the factory.

£10995.00
Location: West London
Collection Only

Hi all,

For sale is my 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 30 (DSG). I am the 2nd owner from new and have owned the car since November 2021. The car was near enough stock when I purchased it and I have upgraded it in my ownership.

- 5 door.
- DSG.
- Steel Grey.
- 76,000 miles (will rise as still in use).
- FSH - last serviced December 2023.
- MOT - Expires 7th March 2025.
- Xenons.
- Heated seats.
- Highline MFD.
- Arm rest.
- MFSW.
- RNS510.
- Folding mirrors (heated).
- Rear parking sensors.

In my ownership I have had the following maintenence completed:

- Serviced 3 times (2 full services, one oil and filter change).
- Cambelt and waterpump.
- Thermostat replaced.
- DSG service.
- Genuine cam chain and tensioner.
- Genuine cam follower changed at every service.
- Genuine oil pick up pipe.
- Rocker cover gasket.
- Genuine PCV.
- Genuine Diverter valve.
- Subframe spacer kit.
- Brake vacuum gasket.
- Varta E44 heavy duty battery.
- New rear wiper switch.
- New folding mirror switch.

Upgrades/modifications are as follows:

- Brodit angled mount.
- Suede retrimmed headliner.
- Wheel finesse steering wheel wrap.
- Ram air oversized induction kit.
- Turbo back exhaust comprising of an MPD developments downpipe with sports cat and a Miltek cat back.
- VIS Stage 3 HPFP internals.
- Genuine R8 coilpacks.
- MK7 Golf Gti performance front calipers, discs and pads.
- Tuning technics Stage 2+ lite remap (approximately 355-360bhp).
- Tuning Technics DSG remap.
- H&R front and rear anti roll bars - fitted December 2023.
- Whole car has had Powerflex bushes installed in December 2023.
- Super pro anti lift kit - fitted December 2023.
- AP coilovers (top mounts replaced all around at the same time), fitted December 2023.
- All rear control arms replaced (December 2023).
- Geo By Luke fast road alignment (December 2023).
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all around.

I've just spent circa £2.5k on the suspension components refresh.

I have spared no expense on ensuring the car is mechanically sound.

Being honest, the car could do with the wheels being refurbished. There is general wear and tear on the car which is expected for the age, the car is approaching 16 years old. There are some minor dents and scratches. The front end does have some stone chips. The inner sills have some slight blistering to the paint. The MFSW buttons work intermittently but I have bought the new control module but haven't had this fitted yet. The cruise control is also intermittent and I have purchased a new stalk, but haven't fitted this yet. Parts will be included in the sale, or if I have time, I will get them installed before sale.. Front and rear dash cams & pioneer double din are not included in the sale.

If you are looking for a well sorted car which mechanically has been looked after well, this is a good car to purchase.

I am in no rush to sell, only considering selling to upgrading. No part exchanges please.

The pictures are prior to the installation of the coilovers, I will upload new pictures once I have detailed the car.

I'm looking for £11,495.00, I paid just under this when I bought the car stock.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Kind regards,

Sharif
