Your oil pump investigations is all great info, and a common issue, so don't sell yourself short  :happy2:

That's one for the forum admin/owner unfortunately mate, but bots are a plague on all forums unfortunately.

Maybe it's your contributions generating a lot of interest, or the warmth and charm of your personality

I delete the bot posts if I spot them though, and there are many!

Always the same tactics.  Exhuming ancient posts with inane nonsense and a link to some tiger penis medication or some sht like that.

That's a good one pudding. I'm flattered

The nothing like the warmth and charm of my doom and gloom oil pressure-related posts. Must be oil pump hysteria  :scared: driving this extra forum traffic

Would it be difficult or expensive to implement some sort of bot-check thing like cloud flare or recaptcha when logging in? I'm not too knowledgeable on the subject.

For my Edition 30, I got a new Borg Weiner K04 from TurboZentrum for £950.  It was the exact same unit VW used, just less the VW branding.

I wouldn't trust a cheap aftermarket one personally if you want it to last.

Mk5 General Area / Boot not opening
« Last post by pandaman on Today at 10:34:58 am »
My boot won't open, I've tried fitting a new latch which made no difference, then tried a different handle and then shorting the pins on the socket, still not working. The wires look fine in the boot area. Not sure what else to do next or what to check. Any ideas?

Thanks mate! Will do. I recall moving the rubber wire boot last year to clean around the inside of the tailgate and thinking how clean and tidy everything looked there. I've seen on some videos, is it the earth wire that can get brittle and break? It's weird how I'm getting some sort of electrical noise from the actuator though/tailgate open warning on the dash. That's what made me think the actuator was at fault. I had to replace a couple of the door actuators the other year that had started to make weird noises and not always open/lock.

I've just tried to use the emergence lever to lock the tailgate but it's not having any one it, so as it stands, I can't actually lock the tailgate... any ideas with that? - just need a quick fix in case I can't get sorted for a for days.

A quick check for fault codes has revealed nothing.

Check the wires from tailgate into the car left hand side, sounds like some of them have issues.

Mk5 General Area / Tailgate won't lock - actuator issue?
« Last post by slipd on Today at 07:54:09 am »
Hi guys,

Just tried to shut my tailgate, after successfully opening it, and it won't lock. There is also no electric sound coming from the actuator. The rest of the central locking (4 door) is fine.

The tailgate is showing as open on my dash and I have no rear wiper. Thoughts at this stage?

I'm just keen to get the tailgate locked at the moment, for security. Isn't there a manual override on the reverse of the tailgate?

2007 1.6 FSi.

Thanks in advance!

I know this is an old thread but I have a 2.0 TFSI Audi A4 with GIAC Stage 3 K04 tune Autotech HPFP and Golf R injectors.
Attaching the log after adjustment.
After adjustment (1.5 nut turn looser) It no longer goes limp after reducing the spring press on the wastegate which is great but I do feel like I hear a leak and it struggles to maintain spec sometimes.

Replaced the damaged tail light and the chavy driver side mirror which I've been wanting to do for a long time, looks much better. Managed to pick up two tail lights up around a year ago for dirt cheap, genuine too.

Next on the list: replace interior buttons (got the window switches), just waiting for the plastic removal kit to make things easier. Then I need to replace the smashed fog light!
