I got the part number for the bottom hose off my delivery note but I just realised when I scrolled past your picture your engine is manual and mine is a DSG so my hose has got an extra outlet on. So the part number will be no help to you sorry.

Besides what has been said before, if the car has been sitting for a while, check the rear calipers cause on the mk5 generation they like to get stuck and you'll have to change them.

Just picked up this 2 days ago. Misus wants the tint strip gone from the windscreen. Reckon it’ll ruin the overall look? I’m in my late thirty’s now so I kinda agree with her!

I thought I'd have a go at using it as I'd already bought it. I might as well rubbed a £10 note on the seat and then threw it in the bin. What an absolute waste of time pierce of s#!t product.

Aight so I'#039ve done another log where I logged lambda and injection timing then spoke with a local tuner. He says my injection timing is too much and my lambda is maxed out at 25% because 1.55 bar boost is too much for my setup. He recommends a remap for 1 bar boost. He showed logs where he made 375hp on 1.35 bar boost. He also said that 340hp and 450nm is the safe limit on my stoc
Re: Genuine cam follower unavailable
Last Poster: lazy in Mk5 General Area on September 08, 2024, 11:30:07 am
I'#039m thinking that my follower must have been replaced already, because that follower surely didn'#039t cause the wear to the cam. I'#039ll probably do about 6000 miles in a year so I'#039ll check it next year and see how bad it

The genuine oil is super thin, designed to improve cold shifts, and it is the best stuff for that without question. nbsp However, it'#039s not that cold the UK and with an older box with loads of miles on it, you can get away with aftermarket stuff. Redline gear oils work really well but they'#039re not chea

Well done, thats quite the retrofit If you can't find a leaked ELSA wiring diagram source, one of those AutoData type online manuals will probably suffice. They're cheap with a 1 month subscription, which should be enough time to do what you need to do.
Re: WHeel bearing type of noise
Last Poster: pudding in Mk5 General Area on September 07, 2024, 10:23:46 am
You can hear bad rear bearings if you use a long screwdriver as a stethoscope on the hub knuckle whilst rotating the wheel. It'#039s a whirring noise.
The front bearings you can'#039t check for wear until you remove the CV joint. nbsp If you can hear disc rubbing noises when turning at slow speeds, that kind of does indicate a bad front bearing as it'#039s wobbling about under the s
Re: Cam chain idle 26.5KW
Last Poster: pudding in Mk5 General Area on September 07, 2024, 10:13:23 am
Yeah that's fine. The important thing is the specified and actual track each other when driving, which they do. Idle doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, especially if it's only 1KW off -4KW is OK. Normally see -3KW after a change job that drops to -4KW with hot oil, so it's fine.
