Re: Underseal recommendations
Last Poster: lazy in Mk5 General Area on Today at 05:07:03 pm
I have used Upol Raptor, Upol Gravitex and 3M rubberised underseal in the past. Upol Raptor is very good and incredibly tough, can also be over coated with a rubberised underseal if you want extra protection.

I used Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 as a cavity wax, very impressed.

Been a while since the last update.. I have spent way more hours than I wanted on doing this but here goes.

I was trying to find a knocking noise from the front end of the car after installing the BC Racing coilovers and had changed virtually everything and still couldn'#039t get rid of it. I reached out to BC Racing to see if they could inspect them for any dampening issue

I haven't got the paperwork to hand but I ordered it the middle of June. Strange that they wanted double the price off you, unless I got lucky and it was on special offer.

You can also use the genuine Hitachi / Huco part as they built the pump

That might be the best way to go maybe they have stock.

Yes a common thing and recently replaced mine for peace of mind, as these cars are nearing 20 years old now and plastic becomes brittle with the heat cycles.

It also looks like your CAI would be resting or knocking that pipe.

Terrible fuel consumption

Hi guys!
Wanted to ask you if anyone could point me in the right direction. Basically the most I can get out of a full tank is around 240miles when I baby it.
So far I changed and checked pretty much everything on the car. Yesterday did a smoke test and had no issues. Car runs fine and has stage 1 on it with around 240hp. Maf is new. Anyone have an idea how to check and

A mate of mine does a lot of 3d printing and he’s now selling these awesome Go-pro headrest holders. Great for track days.
They also fit a GR Yaris and probably a bunch of other cars.

2/3 day car hire
Last Poster: Chris92 in Random Chat on July 13, 2024, 02:11:50 am
Hi again, thinking of getting another mk5 or 6 and unsure what transmission to get. I rented a s3 saloon from audi a good few years ago using their Audi on demand service but I don'#039t think they offer this service anymore so does anyone know where I can hire a dsg car for a few days to see if I get on with it? Used to prefer manual but times change so before I buy something id like

New owner of ED30 number: 2288.

My car already has the paperwork and the plaque installed in the car, but thought I'd get added to the register!

5 door, diamond black, manual transmission!  100k miles, still original and standard, except I've just added cruise control and an RNS315 stereo with DAB/bluetooth/CD/AUX - it looks like a new car inside still!

Yeah I remember reading some time ago the Neuspeed intake was one of the better ones for fuel trims, but none of them are anywhere near close to the OEM error margin unfortunately.

It'#039s not helped by the terrible MAF location VW chose...

Seemingly common Rear wheel alignment issues.
Last Poster: xcb789 in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on July 10, 2024, 05:19:11 pm
Hi everyone.
Both my rear tyres wear fast but my drivers side is way quicker. My passenger rear wears smooth but the drivers sawtooths and is noticeably out of alignment to the eye almost as if something is bent/has given way. I keep trying to upload an image but for some reason it isn’t working, for imaginations sake if you imagine the face of the wheel as a clock it is like

I'#039ve replaced my AC condenser with an NRF brand unit a week ago as it was clogged and leaking. The AC system still doesn'#039t seal perfectly but holds a steady -28 bar vacuum when we tested it. Good enough.

I feel like the newer gen S3 cooler still won'#039t be enough. Even tho right now the car only makes 300hp, I do plan on fitting the proper S3 injectors and pushing that

Does the noise go above 1500rpm and is it worse when hot?  If so, one of the plastic oil control rings on the chain cover could have snapped when sliding it back on, which is very common.

Edition 30 Rear Valance -Pearl Black (Genuine Part)
£80.00
Location: Manchester
Collection Only

For Sale is my old Pearl Black Edition 30 rear valance. This clips into the upper section of your rear bumper.
This was removed from my golf due someone backing into me at low speed causing surface cracks. (they offered to pay for a new valance)

The surface cracks are around the the number plate area which I've tried to photo the best i can.

The exhaust surround has been bonded back on by the body shop after an encounter with a high kerb a few years ago.

There are storage scratches on the paintwork so will need respraying. You will also need a towing eye cover.

All clips to clip the valance upper bumper section are intact and there is no sign of warping.

This is a genuine valance and was fitted to my ED30 from the factory.

2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 30 - Steel Grey - 5 Door - Stage 2+ (DSG)
£10995.00
Location: West London
Collection Only

Hi all,

For sale is my 2008 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 30 (DSG). I am the 2nd owner from new and have owned the car since November 2021. The car was near enough stock when I purchased it and I have upgraded it in my ownership.

- 5 door.
- DSG.
- Steel Grey.
- 76,000 miles (will rise as still in use).
- FSH - last serviced December 2023.
- MOT - Expires 7th March 2025.
- Xenons.
- Heated seats.
- Highline MFD.
- Arm rest.
- MFSW.
- RNS510.
- Folding mirrors (heated).
- Rear parking sensors.

In my ownership I have had the following maintenence completed:

- Serviced 3 times (2 full services, one oil and filter change).
- Cambelt and waterpump.
- Thermostat replaced.
- DSG service.
- Genuine cam chain and tensioner.
- Genuine cam follower changed at every service.
- Genuine oil pick up pipe.
- Rocker cover gasket.
- Genuine PCV.
- Genuine Diverter valve.
- Subframe spacer kit.
- Brake vacuum gasket.
- Varta E44 heavy duty battery.
- New rear wiper switch.
- New folding mirror switch.

Upgrades/modifications are as follows:

- Brodit angled mount.
- Suede retrimmed headliner.
- Wheel finesse steering wheel wrap.
- Ram air oversized induction kit.
- Turbo back exhaust comprising of an MPD developments downpipe with sports cat and a Miltek cat back.
- VIS Stage 3 HPFP internals.
- Genuine R8 coilpacks.
- MK7 Golf Gti performance front calipers, discs and pads.
- Tuning technics Stage 2+ lite remap (approximately 355-360bhp).
- Tuning Technics DSG remap.
- H&R front and rear anti roll bars - fitted December 2023.
- Whole car has had Powerflex bushes installed in December 2023.
- Super pro anti lift kit - fitted December 2023.
- AP coilovers (top mounts replaced all around at the same time), fitted December 2023.
- All rear control arms replaced (December 2023).
- Geo By Luke fast road alignment (December 2023).
- Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all around.

I've just spent circa £2.5k on the suspension components refresh.

I have spared no expense on ensuring the car is mechanically sound.

Being honest, the car could do with the wheels being refurbished. There is general wear and tear on the car which is expected for the age, the car is approaching 16 years old. There are some minor dents and scratches. The front end does have some stone chips. The inner sills have some slight blistering to the paint. The MFSW buttons work intermittently but I have bought the new control module but haven't had this fitted yet. The cruise control is also intermittent and I have purchased a new stalk, but haven't fitted this yet. Parts will be included in the sale, or if I have time, I will get them installed before sale.. Front and rear dash cams & pioneer double din are not included in the sale.

If you are looking for a well sorted car which mechanically has been looked after well, this is a good car to purchase.

I am in no rush to sell, only considering selling to upgrading. No part exchanges please.

The pictures are prior to the installation of the coilovers, I will upload new pictures once I have detailed the car.

I'm looking for £11,495.00, I paid just under this when I bought the car stock.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Kind regards,

Sharif
