I've definitely had a symptom where it felt like the car would accelerate, then ease off, then accelerate again but not sure if it's my throttle body failing or if it was my broken turbo that underboosted by 0.4 bar and what I felt as a slight hesitation was just the N75 kicking in to compensate.

I haven't felt anything like that on the K04. I'll make a note to replace the TB when all else is taken care of. Currently doing fueling stuff.

Does this look like the correct TB?

When accelerating it would sometimes feel like the power was being held back for a second and then return, hot or cold.

Boost would suddenly drop on my gauge and return, and felt like something stuck and then suddenly opened......hard to describe.

I could not figure it out and had worked my way round the entire engine......decided to try the newer Conti TB and it resolved all the issues. smooth power delivery and the car also felt more responsive.

100K on the VDO TB and it was an early one too.

What were the symptoms of yours when it was sticking, like what did it do exactly? Revs falling slow? Uneven idle? Car randomly dying when coming off-gas? Revs jumping up-down as if it had a vacuum leak?

Sticker in the boot or service book should show gearbox code. It should be on the box on the top of it, but might be hard to see what with all the wires and sh*t.

Mk5 General Area / DSG woes!
« Last post by Lewo on Yesterday at 06:09:27 pm »
Driving home last night and bit of a pop from the dsg gearbox car came to a stop, display flashing. Managed the short drive home at 20mph in 1st gear I presume.
Parked car up and this morning it started with no display flashing.
Scanned with Carista and got the code.
Is it cream crackered?
56 plate gti.
Where is the gearbox code so I can see which one I need?
Cheers.

Mk5 General Area / Rear wiper arm part number

Hi guys,

Need to replace the rear wiper arm (not the blade). Does anyone have the part number to the latest revision please?

Thanks

Rich

Have decided it's time to tackle this b*stard, as the stickiness is getting worse and worse, even after slow right-turns it's sticking now. Still no clutch slip though.

We confirmed in the previous post that it's not crankwalk. A gearbox end-cap shim wasn't the solution either.

Also now when reversing up a slight incline it sounds a lot louder and more grindy, which is another cause for concern and I hope not the gears themselves.

Where do I start, is it worth investigating the clutch pedal assembly first before dropping the gearbox? I heard there's a 'clutch-spring' that can fail, is this part of the pedal mechanism or part of the clutch itself?

Cheers

EDIT: Just adding that I have tried pumping the clutch pedal while coasting before a right turn to build up some pressure, didn't reduce the stickiness after the turn
