Evening, thought I'd chip in as the second of those wheels (before Dodds) and say that they look far better in that colour and on your vRS than they ever did when they were silver on my Golf! Looks perfect and still keeps an OEM look too, good work  :happy2:

Loving the wheels on both cars , the zeniths suit the golf are they 17s ? agreed a darker colour is the way forward.  going to get my cassics done over winter as they constantly look covered in brake dust

My zeniths are 18" but they did make a 17" version - I have now primed 2 of the wheels and so far so good..........

Anyway, here are a few more pictures of the vRS wearing its new boots -

Enjoy.....or not as the case may be.

I've been thinking long and hard, and have decided to do the Zeniths in anthracite, it just means a bit more work painting the insides.

It's been a while since I last posted on this, mainly as the vRS has been receiving some treatment, namely S3 front brakes, Milltek downpipe with sport cat and Shark stage 2 software......

Things have been quiet with the Golf but I have now made a few additions.  I recently got a set of GTi side skirts, lower spoiler insert from another member, I also got my hands on a complete GTi brake set up also from another member, this was manily so I could have the vRS rear brakes refurbished to match the S3 fronts, but as I had them I thought it would be rude not to upgrade the GT to 312mm fronts.  Anyway, the spoiler insert was a 5 minute job and makes the front look a lot better, I haven't got any pictures but I'm sure people know what they look like.  With the skirts I really wanted them coded to match the front and rear spoiler and valance, so I attacked them with my random orbit sander to knock back the texture, then gave them a couple of coats of plastic primer, two of the colour and three of clear coat, I then wet sanded with 2000 grit and run two passes with the machine polisher, very happy with the results -

One of the 312mm brakes -

Apologies for the dirty car....  :ashamed:

Any pics of the splitter insert and did you just use the clips and bond the skirts on or use the support rail also? john

I didn't bother taking pictures of the insert as it's just a bog standard GTi one, the only difference is I colour coded the lower spoiler.  I can do though?

I fitted the skirts as per the GTi, apart from the support rails, screws back and front, 4 x adaptors that fit in existing holes in the sills, and double sided foam tape along the top.  I did it like this in case swmbo turns around in a week and tells me to take them off because she doesn't like them!!  :scared:

So far so good!
