The MK6 R is a cracker (as we can see from Hurdy's thread) but I think I would only want one next if I could not afford a M135i or A45. I dont want to mod my next car as heavily as I have with the Eddie, just fancy a remap and a downpipe but want it to be quicker than a Stg 2+ Eddie. All of the cars on my list will be quicker with just a remap... accept the Octavia vrs

Soooooo many choices, and potentially stuff that hasn't even been launched yet. Isabel won't be costing me £750/month in nursery fees by the time it's due to give the BMW back, and I can probably justify a more expensive car, or even two cars.

The A6 Avant is first on the list to be swapped. The missus really likes the M135i, but we can't have 2, so I reckon a MK7 GTI could be on the cards. Unless I build a case for giving her that and I buy something else  :evilgrin:

I've a long overdue appointment with a Porsche, Cayman S or 991 2S. M4's got a shot.

Then there's the older route, a tasty 964, V8 Vantage, S1 Elise Sport160....

Who knows. All I do know is my current car is that good, I haven't actually done any fantasy shopping for the last 8 months, which is very unusual for me - I'm normally a click away from a new car the day after I've bought one!

I had the pleasure of being invited to a Porsche day at Silverstone a few weeks back, amongst the many things I drove, the Cayman S was a proper stand out car. I had to be physically removed from it.

Me too. Cayman S was stunning. Gave it death on their test circuit. Easy to save on the skid pan even with TCS off.  Sublime chassis.

I hope we weren't there on the same day Mike and missed each other.

I was there on the 18th, I can tell it wasn't the same day by the weather alone! F1 testing was on the go, so that was a nice bonus.

I did this..



And my mate Pete with the car in question, we shoved someone out of the way to get this car, having spotted it was a manual and had the buckets.

Ah yes. You definitely had the better weather. We did the Cayman experience. Won it for me and the wife in a competition. Not bad, worth well over £500 in total.

Must add 335i touring to my list. if i do need an estate theselook like grerat value against and S4, and whilst not as fast or tuneable I think they look better than the S4 and will no doubt be more fun to drive. Seen a nice 10 plate one for £15k too..

really? is that over a fairly long commute as i guessed would be low 20's urban cycle?

One big motorway run a week (80-100ish mph) and then 5 days of hilly 17 mile commutes each way. Cruising at 40-60 with odd blast when traffic allows.....

It is the N55 engined car (same as M135i)
