VW Used Car Warranty
« on: March 20, 2010, 05:15:24 pm »
What have you lot had replaced under the Volkswagen W used car warranty?

I've only had 5 different occasions to use it in the last 10 months, 2 of which were very useful and probably saved me more than £400 in VW's time or service costs (£400 being what I paid for the warranty). These were a manifold flap component and a Turbo valve

Mines up for renewal early May and I'm debating whether to renew it, as I'm not sure barring any unforeseen issues, what I'll be able to use it for? I've got a trustworthy excellent local resource that specialises in Porsche/VAG to do my regular servicing and will mop up any disasters
Vehicle is an 06 GTI 3 door on 65k Miles with two long life services + cam-belt having been done. Clutch and water pump not yet done. Pollen/Air filters & Spark plugs have also been done. Oil + oil filter changes I do circa every 7k miles myself.

What have you lot had replaced under the VW used car warranty so I can think of any likely that might go bang and would be covered for the cost?

Thanks  :happy2:
Pete

Surely with that mileage, alot of faults could be put down to wear and tear. What doesn't the warranty cover?

Indeed. Clutch is the only thing I expect I'll have to do during my ownership, which obv isn't covered anyway.

That's more or less what's not included.

I've got the official booklet on it here but not in electronic format Nicky, sorry.

How much would the warranty cost? I might buy an 07 car and need a warranty.

I knew the answer was there somewhere, still knackered after last night's Vodka  :sad1:

£400 is good.

Cheers
