Ours has now gone, too big a job for me to want to tackle, so £500 seems the going rate to get it done for me, but the car will also be gone two days and its not a local upholsterer.

However, I have stumbled upon this (overpriced) solution at £170 for both parts, but a much quicker fix and DIY'able, has anyone tried this?

My car has got the front one fitted (put on by a previous owner). I didnt know until someone pointed it out to me after 4 years of owning the car.

However recently the rear has gone around the interior light and I have reluctantly bought the part you have linked but not fitted yet. Agree the price is a joke, I was even wondering if someone could 3d print one and then return the original to Amazon lol.

But yeah as I said the front one seemed to work on mine for at least 4 years.

Ok that’s good to know cheers

If you would kindly hurry up and fit the rear one and take photos that would be great

Looks like I've beaten @Jons1001 to it  :P

Overall quite easy to do...it would have probably only taken me an hour to do both BUT I couldn't get the sunglasses holder back in no matter how long I tried. Eventually I ended up breaking the tabs, but resolved that by adding in a couple of screws.

I think it looks good, and although expensive at £170 for two bits of plastic  :surprised:, it's still better than having to fork out £500+ for a retrim  :drinking:

How easy was the rear?

Super easy, it comes with step by step instructions but in short...pop off the cover, release two clips, pop off the electrical connection, slot the removed section into the new frame, pop it back on.
The only tricky part is trying to slot the new combined piece back into the original opening, but a few mins of jiggling and I got it, probably 10 mins in total.
