The best tyres for traction (road legal)

yes, best road tyre for everyday use although for me personally i dont do loads of motorway miles so will be happy to shell out for the R1R's if they are the best even though they may not last too long at stg 2+, which is what i have eventually decided to try out.

i concur with Hurdy that with spirited driving you get less wheelspin and therefore longer tyrelife in the R1R that most normal roadtyres. They are the tyre of my choice for the Golf with 336BHP and 453NM of torque :driver:

That would be a T1R and not R1R.
R1R's are currently around £200 a corner for 18"ers :smiley:
