First race I've had time to watch this season, at first I had to turn the volume up on the tv so I could hear the cars. I miss the sound of the v8's but the sound of the new turbo engine down shifting sounds good.

Like a few of you lads have said it was very interesting race yesterday most action I've seen in a while. I hope it carries on for the rest of the season.

Now the V10 sounded good the V8 not so much.  I think people are mistaking volume for a nice sound.  The V8s were very very loud, simple as that, they didn't sound good.

I love the new new engine note, it has character and depth, you can hear so many other elements of the race from tyres, radio, crowd, turbo, ERS etc etc

Best race in terms of on track battles for a good few seasons IMO. Hamilton and Rosberg proved why they are in the best team this year as well, not many drivers would be able to pull that out like they did with out crashing. Talking of crashing, Maldonado strikes again!

Anyone get the suspicion that as we're approaching the business end of the season Mercedes have started to think that they'd rather have a german driver winning their first ever F1 driver's championship as Mercedes AMG, than a brit?

Maybe I'm just paranoid. I bet Hamilton is!

^^^^ Thought that since Australia. Can't blame them though as a German manufacturer, one of their peeps is going to win the championship and you can bet your last Deutschmark they want it to be a German.

They're paying Hamilton close to 20 million, which is more than Rosberg. If they wanted a number 2 driver I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have hired him that's for sure. That's Massa's job

Well.......A HUGE congratulations to Lewis Hamilton for winning the 2014 World Drivers Championship!

It's been a fantastic year on track but sadly a shambles off it! Never mind. At 84, Bernie might disappear soon.

Am I alone in thinking that even the drivers have no idea what's going on with F1 as a whole? Rumours of 3 car teams next year but seems loads of drivers have no idea where they're going, or even staying. Thinking the super money days of F1 are over and the sport is going down.

Look at the BTCC this year, 31 cars on the grid but only a few factory teams with almost 2/3 of the grid being independent low-budget teams. Think F1 needs to go that sort of way and seriously lower manufacturing costs.
