EGR valve/ Glo-plugs

<< < (3/5) > >>

Andy:
Yeah as matt says get rid of it

jettamike:
Out of interest chaps, does getting the EGR valve blanked/mapped out make the car more responsive in throttle positions that would normally allow the egr valve to be open? I've had a few diesels in the last few years, all have had the egr valve apart from my first two cars (old 306 xudt based ).

Thanks :)

Andy:
It does seem to but not sure if that was me imaging things

jettamike:
The mrs has a Mk1 Octavia TDI and has just had to have a replacement turbo after many cleaning sessions thanks to her having completely the wrong car for her usage. The garage blanked it off as they said it should help a little bit? Hasn't thrown up an EML yet but I assume the ECU in the mk5 onwards is slightly more intelligent and will do unless its mapped out?

Andy:
It needs the eml light mapping out like mine did
