It was sitting on the shelve for some time…😅
But you’re from Ravensburg right?! My cousin also lives there… what is the world small some times😁 You’ve also done some work on yours 👍🏻 I read the whole story😉 enjoy it😉👍🏻

After my 1600 km to Croatia I had a good Shake down of my ED30😎
Suspension wise everything is done now. Maybe a 10 - 20 mm drop for good looks
but for driving on the road it is great!😍
Brake wise I must admit that the brakepedal travel is more then before… so last week when I was there, I ordered a 25mm brake master cylinder to replace the 23mm unit.
Hope to get all the other parts by this Friday so I can take it with me on Monday back to Croatia… but now in a van😅 Got some stuff for the 20 Years and the Tiguan which have to come with me…
I’ll post some pic’s when I’m all ready to go😅
For now just the brake master cylinder…

Also brought all the brake master cylinder parts so when time is available in the next couple of weeks, I’ll change it.

Something a bit different….
Found this on YouTube but don’t know where to put this?! Also
if the moderators could put this in the right topic👍🏻😅
Maybe a disadvantage here… it’s in German but you’ll all get the idea😁
This the title on YouTube:
“Golf GTI Generationen Kampf: Welcher GTI ist der Beste?”

Finally having a bit “me” time again😅 … wife & kiddo doing there own thing…
I’m enjoying the weekend in 🇭🇷❤️ 🍻🍻
As I mentioned back in March when I was doing the Z18 Brembo caliper upgrade on to the alu Audi hubs there was a little hickup….🫣🙄 but nothing that couldn’t be solved🤓
The 2 mounting holes on the Alu hubs are way thicker then on the iron VW hubs!!
A little thing that I missed when ordering them! Comparing them side by side revealed that the 2 mounting holes are different
So it was measuring time!! The Audi hub holes are +/- 33mm thick as the VW hub holes are just +/- 20mm!!
After double checking and measuring 2 times!😅 it was cutting time😎👊🏻
Did a spot on job If I may say so myself👍🏻 So now the Z18’s are on the “stock” maesuring as if mounted on the Iron hubs.🥳🎉🎊…. What I also cut, were the 2 outer brake pad holders on the Z18’s ( I can’t find back those pic’s!!!) I used a Dremel Tool to cut 2mm off each holder and rounded them off nicely. This doesn’t affect the pads on the outer side of the brake disc. Just the 2 outer caliper pistons are 1mm more out of thair housing…
Pic’s are next up because my blabbering means nothing without facts 😁
Most important…. I don’t like to use spacers!! The Speedlines (8,5x19 ET48) needed 5mm spacers to clear the calipers🙄 So I sourced the same Speedlines but with ET43!! Now I don’t need spacers!
The test was a success :pomppomp: :pomppomp: after driving 1600km to Croatia, everything was still holding and my Croatian MOT guy was impressed with my work😍
All is looking “stock”😁 but a nice upgrade 👍🏻
Just love the “VAG” group❤️ Everything is like “Lego” 😅 you can swap different things from different Brands… Porsche stuff on VW or Seat or Škoda or vise versa❤️

Here are the pic’s because they tell more than words😇
All before cutting/grinding
This is the upper hole of the Alu Audi hub which holds the caliper

And this is the lower one

After cutting them off

Now they measure +/- 20mm
Same as on the Iron hub

These are the leftovers which I cut off

Now, I’ve got my 3mm space between the calipers and wheels WITHOUT SPACERS

I Hope this helps you guys out if you want to mount Z18 Brembo calipers on to your VDubs😎❤️ Wheel choice is entirely yours as long you keep your ET offset in mind😉
The only thing you can upgrade is your brake master cylinder from 22 or 23mm to a 25mm Audi one. It is not necessary but your brake Pedal travel is less 👍🏻
Have fun on “schraubing” on to your rides  :happy2:
