^^^^ just saw that, shame but time to retire TBH. Couldn't make the impact he'd hoped for in the Mercedes. :happy2:

His results just didn't stack up compared to Rosberg. There's a nice analysis here -

Thas was dated 2010, which was a very poor season for him.  Hes been much better this season, and had it not been for his mechanical issues with the car, he would have been much closer to Nico on the points table.

Retirement number two announced for Schumacher. Pretty gutted his "comeback" never really materialised.

....Me too. A bit of an anti climax but it shows what it takes win the championship nowadays.

There's the story about it on Ch5 TV News Ch5 at 6:30pm.....   Soon!

Loved Kimi's post qualifying interview. "I spun". "I don't care about the others".

Made me laugh when i saw that.  Quickest interview i think ive seen in f1 coverage.  Straight to the point

You'd think grosjean would learn :driver:

hes going to be out of a job soon i think.  He's quick, no denying that, but who wants a gy in their team who crashes all the time and receives loads of penalties every race.

Great to see Alonso out the race, now the championship is really going to be a close fight.  We need both Alonso and Vettel to crash out in the next race, then have a really tight run for the top 4 or 5 guys into the last races of the season!!!!  Was great to see both Massa and kobayashi on the podium.  :congrats:

Great to see Alonso out the race...

Yeah, it's always great to see a driver lose out for no fault of his own :stupid:

Jesus christ, you love a good moan.  I'll reword it for you, so you can dry up your tears

"It was great to see Alonso out of the race, BECAUSE it has closed up the points and means we'll have a much closer battle, which of course is what we all (well probably not you  ) want to see."

I personally hope the championship is decided in the last race again.

I think it's particularly galling that the driver who has performed most consistently has had his lead slashed because of two incidents that were completely out of his hands. McLaren and Red Bull have been playing catch up because of their own inconstancies, namely engine failures and pitstop problems. I realise it's all in the game, but that doesn't make Formula One anymore exciting because of it.

Supposing another contender wins the Championship because Alonso is shunted several more times, would that be fair?

Good to see Alonso's attitude is a little more forgiving than my own:

"Kimi touched me a little bit in the rear and I had a puncture. It is a little sad but we need to concentrate and think about next week. We need to keep working well and not making mistakes. Nothing we can do. Thanks to this consistency we are leading the championship. The others make mistakes, we need to avoid this"

Racing isnt fair. You cant bring fair into it as all the cars on the grid are different, is that fair? :indifferent:

That largely comes down to finance, and because there are no imposed boundaries on any team, big or small, it's a level playing field. So I'd argue it is fair.

The fact that Sauber can't spend as much on their development is only governed by their own situation, nothing to do with fairness.

By the way, I realise that using the word "fair" above is incorrect. I guess sometimes it just comes down to luck :happy2:

Shame for Alonso but that's just what the championship needed. Am not Alonso's biggest fan but If he wins the championship, fair play as he would have done it with an inferior car under him but I'd rather it went all the way as was decided on the last race of the season.

Vettel's championship now IMO.

And Grosjean, got to keep him in F1, keeps the rest of the field on their toes......and looking in their mirrors
