Impressive! I’m looking to do similar soon, don’t suppose you have a list of part numbers/prices?

Just made a new thread for everything listed.

Finally got some time to fix my rattling sunroof. Took the whole thing out along with the blind, gave everything a good clean, some silicone protector for the rubber seal and ptfe dry lube for the rails. Happy to say the rattle is gone, drove around the block for a bit and I can't hear the damn thing.

Just the dash rattling remains, between 1700-2200 RPM so you can ALWAYS hear it. I can't pinpoint it for the life of me, keep pressing around on every spot and it's to no effect. I'm gonna try and see if the side screws got loose or something, feel like putting an axe thru it already.

Had a very tired windscreen replaced.
No specific MOT fail damage but a plethora of tiny chips and scratches making it hazardous in the low winter sun.

2008 model with rain sensors , was a surprisingly decent quote for £245 without insurance (my 2010 TTS was nearer £600)…but my insurance agreed to cover it so it was £150 excess instead (no impact to NCB).
Black MkV Gti (Nov 2008), no modifications

Ordered a replacement interior passenger door grab handle, and to my surprise the GTI now has parts classified as classic  so a longer waiting time with some mk5 parts now

Welcome to the MK5 world :)) They all get that way and need sills replacement, rear fender fixing.. sometimes along with front fenders & rear boot lid (cheaper, no cutting and welding involved).

Been planning to retrofit cruise control to the GTI and finally did it today.

Hardest part was fitting the missing control wire with mine being a 2005 and missing it. I made and then added the missing control wire as people ask stupid money for it,  by ordering the different male and female pins to fit the connectors etc.....fitted and worked perfectly. I also got a secondhand stalk 1K0953513G off eBay for £13 and went ahead to fit. I already have the highline dash and modules so was sorted there. Coded it up and all works great  :happy2: For the total cost of £30 in parts.

I am going to make up a few of the cruise control wires for retrofit purposes if there is interest.

After fitting my cruise control wire and stalk with coding, I made up a spare 5 retrofit  wires that I am going to sell on eBay
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/277547672897

I also fitted some new seat lever badges as there appears to be a new style out these days

Added a 10" screen for Android Auto and reverse camera, and a maglock phone charger to the car as I prefer the OE DAB headunit.  All works well
